Studio Ghibli

I tried and failed to get into Hayao Miyazaki's films. Really dislike how he uses the naive little girl trope who spends half the movie crying. I know it's supposed to be cute/endearing but it just rubs me the wrong way. :(

I love Studio Ghibli! First ever anime/Ghibli movie i ever say was Howl's Moving Castle. Have quite a collection of movies now. Most recent addition is When Marnie Was There.

I watched ponyo, spirited away, nausicaa, totoro, howl's moving castle, and princess mononoke. I feel like nausicaa, princess mononoke, and ponyo are really similar though...my favourite is definitely spirited away(the first one I saw)

I LOVE Studio Ghibli! <3 My all time favorite is probably Kiki's Delivery Service, but I also really like Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Howl's Moving Castle! <3

My favorite Studio Ghibli film is Princess Mononoke. I'm also a fan of My Neighbor Totoro, Grave of the Fireflies, Spirited Away, and Howl's Moving Castle.

I still need to watch Porco Rosso sometime.

The Cat Returns has to be my favourite of theirs. I used to own a copy of the film on DVD but gave it away a while back, and recently I have been keeping an eye out for a good deal on buying another copy. (I really want to show my husband the film.) I recommend it to you too!, since no one else on here seems to have.

I have a stack of movies on the shelf, and my favorite ones are The Wind Rises and Spirited Away. I love all of the others, too!

Spirited Away is my all-time favorite!! I also love Howl's Moving Castle! <3
Studio Ghibli movies bring me so much nostalgia.. *sighs* I miss being a kid.

I think most people who've watched Ghibli films have one that resonates with them in particular and I love that Miyazaki's stuff is so far-reaching despite having stories that are relatively simple. Characters are easy to relate to and conflicts tend to be realistic. I think Kiki's Delivery Service helped me through parts of my depression before I even knew I HAD depression.

My favorite will always be Princess Mononoke, though. I wish I could put my finger on why. I remember sitting down with half my family to watch it (though I can't remember why I had it in the first place...) and I was younger then, more squeamish, so for some of the more violent bits I was looking away from the screen haha

My sibling was younger too (obviously lol) like, I dunno, 4 maybe? Tops? And she paid closer attention to the movie than I did. It dragged for me the first time I watched it. Then something inexplicably changed and I watched it again... and again... and it's been a while now, due for another viewing, but the whole "eyes unclouded" bit really stuck with me when I was a kiddo. I remember buying a plush cat for my sis and naming it A****aka and she was too young to really say it right, kept calling it Ha****aki (lolol) but knew the reference and still has it to this day. :D

I enjoy a lot of their films. I've watched Howl's Moving Castle, Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, and Arrietty so far. Someday, I'll get to the rest of the films.

My favorite would have to be Howl's Moving Castle. The story was nice but I think the music is what made it so great to me.

My Neighbor Totoro is one of my favorite films - it just captures the beauty & innocence of childhood so perfectly. Kiki's Delivery Service & Spirted Away are great too

I love all of Studio Ghibli's movies, my favorite ones are Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, and When Marnie Was There.

My favorite so far is Howl's Moving Castle, but I've also seen Spirited Away.

Ah, quite a few Ghibli fans here :)

I have a disc set of some of the older movies (subbed, though I grew up on a few dubbed ones). My favorites are Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, Kiki's Delivery Service, The Cat Returns, Princess Mononoke, Whisper of the Heart, and My Neighbor Totoro (of course). I saw Spirited Away many years ago, but it's been so long I should probably rewatch it to refresh my memory. Pom Poko was kind of strange, but I still enjoyed it.
