Hi fellow Animal Crossers!
I was struggling with getting my last two fish before the end of the month and stumbled onto this really easy trick.
Go to deserted islands with Nook Miles tickets. That's it.
The respawn rates on these islands is astronomical. It also appears that the density of spawns is higher (a lot more fish in a small area) than you normally experience on your native island, as well as a much quicker than the rate on your home island, and things will respawn at shorter ranges than you normally experience as well (note that these are things observed in my experience - not rigorously tested at this point).
You may have to go to the deserted island a few times to get the layout you need, particularly for the stringfish as you need a cliff area with water, and not all islands will have that.
On my deserted island last night, I caught three sturgeon in under five minutes. I'm not kidding. You can scare away the unwanted fish with your net or running to force respawn of the fish sizes you're after.
The stringfish takes a little more effort but the strategy is the same.
Good fishing, fellows!
