I don't see an actual need for this. We have a downvote system. It's called a report. Honestly, all this would do is open up a new opportunity for bullying. Also, you don't need to request it be closed, you can close threads yourself by checking the close thread box when you post.

I dont see a need for half the boards we have on this forum, yet we still have them.

Nothing is "needed". Reported this thread asking to be closed. Just let it die now. No need for more people to come and say "its not needed". We gey it. Thats been estabished. Thanks for the feedback.

I think these kind of systems can be nice--the one I like best is when you can mention you agree with a post. It helps lessen people commenting with stuff like "This" or "I agree" or "Took the words out of my mouth" without adding things and also helps people who may not feel comfortable posting show they agree with something to get an idea on how those who don't post much feel as well. It usually just shows at the bottom of the post the names of those who agreed or a number. I've also seen the systems on the side of posts under people's avatars with just a number.
