Summer holiday's at my school start on Wednesday 18th of July. I'll be on holiday for ten days after that date. When I come back there will be roughly about 4-5 weeks left before I'm back to school. So on the 28th of July I'll be rearing to play this Summer of City Folk with you guys.
I think most of the UK's schools close for summer on the 18th of July, so compare the date with the other participants school closures and come up with an ideal date.

We'll start officially on the 4th of July, that will be the first big event. People can show up or drop out whenever.

@keenan: treasure hunt can be pretty good as i previously said. give me a minute of two and i'll edit this with other ideas
idk/idr what i suggested before, but pitfall races, path of death (ie; there is an area that is burried with everything and there is only one path which doens't contain pitfalls;
Flower Plower, i saw a video on youtube from WiiFolder, let me find it

Doing normal races but wearing King Tut masks can be fun, too

It's not that hard to arrange, really. You just need some open space then dig a few holes.

As I said before, most British schools close on the 18th of July, so on the Wednesday. I'm assuming that you mean the date from 'When are people around'. I'm totally nonchalant about the date as long as it's after the 18th.
