Tarantula problems...

I just Time-Traveled (yes, I know it's cheating a bit) to 10:30pm to try and catch some Tarantulas and Scorpions. I saw two Tarantulas, one commited suicide in the sea, and the other was near the town fountain. So I crept up to it and I was about to take my net out to catch it, when it suddenly disappeared! I pulled my net out to see if it would chase me, but nothing happened. Does anyone know why this happened?

This has actually happened to me as well. :O
I believe if you do not have your net out for a while, then it will just disappear.

Also, on a side note* did you know that tarantulas and scorpions have specific re spawn spots in your town. Once you find out where they appear it becomes very easy to find them.

If they are by your cliff, chase them off the cliff when you don't have your net in your hands...

Bring out your net, and go to the nearest ramp. When you get close enough to see them, step back a little and swing your net. I caught my tarantula by doing that. I just got lucky with the scorpion...

The cliff method works with both though.
