tarantula question

so since the game turned off the tarantula spawning island i havent seen hardly any tarantulas in my town at all; until tonight where i caught 4 of them back to back. now im wondering if the game has made some sort of correction where you can actually get tarantulas on your own island in a decent number. so thats my question, has the game done that? because ive only seen 1 tarantula in my town before, and never ever seen 4 of them back to back before....so whats going on there? by the way, the date in my town is march 31 2022 and i caught them at 10:00pm

I may be misunderstanding your post, but there is still a tarantula island available via mystery islands! It is rare to encounter, but I actually stumbled upon it myself earlier this week (i believe there is also a scorpion island for during the other time of year).

I have also not been aware of any changes to bug spawn rates made in a long long time. It could just be that luck hasn't been in your favor for finding them. Glad you were finally able to encounter some on your island again

well, ive done the mystery island tours and found the bamboo island a few times and tried each time to clear the island however, the tarantulas didnt show up so i asked on here what had happened to them and why i wasnt getting results and the answer was that nintendo had taken them out of the game via the 2.0? update.
which is why i was asking. i did find that island a month or so ago and the same thing happened.
i was just going to update this post actually because since ive posted this the tarantulas are still showing up in my game *personal island* and im now on april 2, 2022. last night i caught five. tonight *its 7:30pm in my town right now* ive caught one so far. i am re-arranging my island at the moment as well...maybe thats whats causing this?
i would love to know if anybody else has this happen in their town at the same dates and times that ive said on here. it might be kinda cool to have nights where they are super available on your islands.

"Tarantula island" is still on the game, a very rare destination when flying with the dodos. This island is specifically set to only spawn tarantulas, similar to how "Big Fish" island only spawns large shadow sizes. What Nintendo did was to change the spawn rates for bugs overall, and that resulted on the "fake Tarantula island" that people made to be almost useless nowadays.

Back on your own island, these rates still apply, and tarantulas are still a rare bug but you may have had some lucky (or unlucky?) days. Some days I encounter 2 of them and others I don't find a single time. Sometimes I may get a glimpse of them before they despawn, so I may have had lots of tarantulas spawning without me noticing. But afaik, there wasn't any additional change to the bugs mechanics.
