Targeted ads?

Like I said, I only really have this problem on mobile/tablet. I always have adblock on my comp. u-u

I can't think of a reasonable way to measure this but how much does it bother you? Do you actively use the computer at every opportunity to avoid adverts?

They don't bother me a huge ton!! I'm on mobile a lot cause I have my phone on me more often. But it's just kinda made me realize how little privacy we have and how easy it is for other people gather data about yourself online lol ; .;

They're watching everything, it really irks me. CCTV cameras outside, listening through Smart TVs, storing everything we do online. It's the privacy vs. security debate or at least that's what they pose it as and I always feel lonely on the side of privacy.

i get ads for colleges which is ironic as i've already accepted a college place

I don't mind, I feel like it just tempts me more, but I mean, it is the things I want. What I DO get creeped out by is when it advertises something I just talked about or mentioned IRL. This has happened multiple times and just freaks me out. For instance once I was just talking with my boyfriend about a certain brand of bagels and when I scrolled on facebook down a few posts was an advertisement for them. Now THAT is creepy.

If it weren't for Facebook being the only way I could communicate with my best friend, I'd close it down immediately.

They do have a website. ;)

Question for everyone: Is that the main reason people still see adverts? They browse the internet on smartphones which do not possess adblockers? Or are you supporting platforms you enjoy purposefully?

Yep. AdBlock gets installed on Chrome instantly, but mobile ad blocking apps have been patchy for me.
