sorry to come across as a mean and angry little gremlin. i love u all even if ur one of the people whose words i've found to be intentionally direspectful, i'm sure people on the other side feel similarly. however i feel so upset that people don't feel free to criticize the game bc they fear they'll be told off. this isn't just a me problem and i wanted to stand up for all of us

please enjoy the game and hope that everybody is satisfied with whatever future developments may occur <333

2. PEOPLE AREN’T IDIOTS, THEY KNOW WHY THEY’RE COMPLAINING

Never tell people that it’s too early to be complaining as if they don’t know what they’re talking about. As it stands, there is no update yet! While you may easily feel faithful about what’s going to come, others may not!

This is such an important point!

Before the game came out, most concerns were waved off because they couldn't be based on any fact until the game's release. Now, with the promise of future DLC/updates, it's like that period of not being allowed to complain or worry has been extended indefinitely. I really understand trying to minimize negativity, but oftentimes it just amounts to silencing imo

it's true and you should say it!!

Thank you for addressing this. It's nice to see someone taking into account the problem and letting others know what's up.

I have my grips and loves. Others do, too. It's sad that respect doesn't just come naturally for everyone.

I think some people, particularly younger people, don't understand that criticism isn't inherently a bad thing. A lot of the time I think it comes back to being perceived as a "fake fan" of something, an attitude that I think is particularly rampant among younger folks. But there are plenty of things I love but still have complaints about. NH is one of them. Some things I was concerned about pre-release have turned out to be things I genuinely enjoy, while things I hadn't even thought of disliking have cropped up as I played. As long as everybody respects everybody else we should be fine.

I've also seen a resurgence in hating on people who time travel. People have been TTing since ACGC. Nothing wrong with it, as long as you're not somehow hurting someone else by doing it.

Hey OP! Thanks for this thread. Also, apologies if I ever antagonized or undermined you (or anyone else who tried venting out their criticism). Hope you're enjoying the game :)

it’s sad and i hate to see it. you’d think a game as friendly as animal crossing would attract open-minded and accepting individuals but there’s so much dictatorship over what people can and can’t do or how people should feel haha

your fake fan theory is definitely a valid one. i’ve seen people say seeing people tt upsets or annoy them because it’s not the ‘true’ way to play and honestly the mindset just shouldn’t be encouraged. pay attention to yourselves, not others if it upsets you that much and especially don’t ostracise or attack people because of your prejudice towards the way they play a game

you’re so welcome!! it’s so sweet that you feel the need to apologize but i assure you there are no hard feelings here. thanks for seeing where we’re coming from, and i hope you enjoy the game too! it’s a good one!!

UGh finally thank you so much for the thread because someone needed to say it. People act as if you can't enjoy and criticize the game at the same time >_> I also got to give you credit for handling this pretty well!

much thanks! i’m trying my best to keep composure haha

I agree! Everyone will always have positive/negative opinions, but saying them respectfully is the most important part :)

An' ye harm none, do as ye may.

As long as you're not actively trying to hurt others, do what you enjoy. People all have differing tastes and interests, but it shouldn't be grounds for us to put each other down and fight. In the end, no one will be happy, and that's not good.
For example, I may not like a certain tv show, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna bash on someone else who does, because I certainly wouldn't want someone else doing that to me over something they didn't like but I did. It's okay to be different; nothing would be interesting if we were all the same.
Some of us love NH in its entirety (admittedly, I'm one of them). Some of us see room for improvement. Some of us prefer past titles. But all of us on the forums share this much; our love for the series and our collective enjoyment of it. We should all enjoy it the way we each individually do, and respect that others feel differently about different things. That way, we can all be happy and have fun (at least, I hope so! ) =^-^=
