Terrorist attacks in Brussels

i havent been on the forum since it happened but yeah it's awful. a lot of innocent people have and will suffer because of this and it's rly unfortunate.

but yeah, i kind of agree with some people in this thread. terrorist attacks happen every week (for example the attacks in turkey) , but we only really care about the ones happening in the western world. i kind of feel like a hypocrite when stuff like this happens...

i don't mean we shouldnt care about brussel, i just think we should care more about other places that are targeted far more often

I agree we should care more about other countries, but it's natural that i'm going to be more worried when a terrorist attack happens in a country right next to me, than when its miles and miles away

I honestly think raising it to 4/4 terrorist threat levels will do nothing now - they'll lay low for a couple months and move onto bombing the next place

That being said, this is beyond a joke now and my heart goes out to all those affected.

I believe it's an absolute disgrace. My heart goes out to those who have been affected.

As soon as it became known that a fugitive terrorist had fled into Belgium, it should've gone to 4. Why that didn't happen is beyond me.
The fact that the Americans are now sending the FBI to assist the Belgian anti-terror unit operations is also a clear sign that Belgium ****ed up. Belgian authorities have also received a lot of criticism since yesterday. Most of it for good reason.

Najim Lachraaoui, the guy they were looking for, was in fact the second suicide bomber at the airport. That means they're all accounted for, though I still see some news outlets are confused about whether or not they're looking for another accomplice now.
The only thing I can say for sure is that police are looking for more people that may have helped in planning this and other attacks, but they have been looking for them ever since they captured Abdeslam.

Speaking of which, it's also been confirmed that these attacks were originally planned to happen on Easter Monday, but they decided to go ahead with it a week ahead of time due to Abdeslam's arrest.

I'm going to have to take the PC gloves off this one so if any regressive leftist gets offended, don't read this post.
This was going to happen eventually. After the Paris attacks, the EU should have mobilized the military and police and raided these "jihadist hotbeds." These jihadist hotbeds are "no-go zones" formed by Muslim extremists converging in one place when they immigrate to Europe and cut themselves off from the local population. Police are even too afraid to enter to inspect the areas so of course there could be terrorists hiding inside. ISIS claims to have planted jihadists all over Europe ready to strike and they are likely to hide in these "no-go zones." Molenbeek is just one "no-go zone." There is one in East London, Marseille, and Malmo. If the EU was serious about stopping terrorism, they would have to tread on some sensitive issues and raid these "no-go zones" instead of bombing the Middle East.
