This can be locked once I have an answer from a mod or admin of the site, but basically yeah. So we had a Fire Festival, a Halloween event, and even a Canadian event, but do you guys (the staff) plan on doing ANYTHING at all around November 26th for the belltreeforums to represent Thanksgiving?? I know it's an American holiday and all, but a lot of people that use the site would still care about it. If I remember correctly a couple years ago there was an event in the Bell Tree Fair with turkey-hand submissions, but I can't remember if that was during December (the TBT fair) or November. I just need to know if I would want to be on TBT around November 26th for anything, whether there's a contest, an event, a collectible, or even just a banner change at the time at the top of the site.

Looking for a yes or no answer simply from a site mod or admin, thank you. I know you guys have been really busy with the past couple events, so I'm not really worried about it. Take your time answering too. I just wanted to know. Thanks :)

I would say 'only americans celebrate it smh' but then again all the british people like to soak up all the American traditions so they feel cooler.

What even is Thanksgiving celebrating xD

According to Wikipedia "Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated primarily in Canada and the United States as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the preceding year. It is celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada and on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States. Several other places around the world observe similar celebrations. Thanksgiving has its historical roots in religious and cultural traditions and has long been celebrated in a secular manner as well."

Basically what people do on Thanksgiving to celebrate it (in the US) is have a giant feast with turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, green beans, vegetables, and many other things with their families for dinner in order to give thanks to the people that founded, laid the roots, and started the US hundreds of years ago. I would post the site but I think it's against TBT rules.

Maybe instead we could have a Harvest Festival like in ACNL to be more broad. In the game, apparently the harvest festival occurs on the fourth Thursday of November.

It would definitely be fun to participate in though it would probably be a lot of work for the staff to organize.

Yeah, I agree. While it would be a lot of fun for the members, it would probably be a lot of work for the staff, so idk. Even just a banner change around the top of the site around the time like they do when new big Nintendo games are released would be nice. I'm not sure though. The staff for the site already have enough to worry about with December coming up, and plus we had a Fire Festival, so we'll see.

A Harvest Festival would probably make more sense.

dag- late Happy Thanksgiving to all the Canucks on the Forum!

also, fyi- Thanksgiving is the busiest travel week of the year in the USA...

Tbh it probably may just be a banner change with Franklin the turkey on it.
But new collectibles would be nice

We just got new collectibles for halloween, and with the fair possibly coming up late november / early december I think the staff will be preparing that rather than hosting a new event. Also, what exactly would happen in the event? A lot of the possibilities have already been used for other events.

The TBT Fair actually is usually going on around that time. Last year, we had it running from late November - around Christmas.

Didn't they say they're doing a different big event for Christmas this year during December INSTEAD of the TBT fair?? That's what I remember hearing from a mod or admin.

I think I read somewhere that there will not be a fair but there will be a Halloween event and a Christmas event. No thanksgiving event. I may not be remembering correctly but I thought for sure there won't be a thanksgiving event. Maybe someone else can clarify.

It's been moved to the Summer of 2016, or Winter if you're in the Southern Hemisphere

While I would looooove the pumpkin pie collectible, I wouldn't hold your breath guys. The process (as I understand it), is that it has to get "drawn" or made then transformed into a collectible form, which takes time.

In the past, I think it was Thunder (now a retired mod) that drew almost all of them, but his time is limited. (Which is why I think, to meet the demand of new collectibles, drawing contests have been held as oppose to Thunder doing all of them).

So unless it's already been in the works since a month ago or something, I don't think we'll get a new collectible. (I would die of happiness if I am wrong though!)
