Before I go over the story, I would like to mention my recent activity on TBT. I made it to the one week mark. I may be a noob, but I don't act like a noob. On my first week, I made 250+ on the forums. I also got a good signature, written 8 blog entries (this is my 9th), made over a total of 1,000 TBT Bells (my net TBT Bell count is currently 290 something). I will be doing some trading later on during my journey through TBT. I'm already enjoying it. On TV.com, GameFAQs, LBP Central, and other forum sites I joined, I didn't even make it up to the 100 post mark.
Now I will cover the topic of the blog entry, the best and worst of Animal Crossing. So there are four games in the AC Saga (as of what I see in the US). Each of them have their advantages that make them top ranked, and they have their disadvantages that made them bottom-ranked. I wouldn't say the main disadvantage would be obvious or community related (although the GameCube version had limited features, Wild World had seeding, City Folk was one town per console, and New Leaf had duping, which were all pretty bad). There are other problems in each game. I will now begin.
ACGC (GameCube version) - even if there aren't very many features, as some stuff like catching bees and making money was harder, the GameCube version was very good for its time. As the GameCube was a failure, this game is one of the best. I did not like that there were limited features (i.e. everyone has their own home but lives in the same acre, basses are the only fish accepted during fishing tourneys, patterns apply to hat and every side of the shirts etc). Also, the lack of interaction from faraway places and use of memory cards wasn't too appealing. But let me go over the stuff there was in this version:
ACWW (Wild World) - City Folk may be the last AC game released before 2012, but for the longest time, Wild World was the most active game. I have played Wild World more than any other AC game. When New Leaf came out, Wild World officially lost its crown. Not only that, but Nintendo WFC was shut down, isolating this version from the rest of the world. It was a game specifically made for a portable system, making it a game I can play anywhere. It also introduced some features like animal pics and hairstyles. But there were some bad changes like the removal of balloons as items, flattening the entire town to one level of elevation, putting all characters into one house, and many more. I also didn't like how they retained some of the GameCube version's problems like the restriction of remodeling Nookway to Nookington's and the mean villagers. Nevertheless, I will share its biggest strength and weakness:
ACCF (City Folk) - City Folk is my least favorite version of Animal Crossing. While it's not a big improvement to City Folk, it had flaws that completely ruined the game. I played this for a while, but when I was using DS suitcase to get my character to travel to my town in Wild World, it did not work, and I lost everything I brought with me. When this happened, I stopped playing City Folk. I gave my character to my brother as I stuck with Wild World. I liked how they brought back holidays and cliffs while stuff like the gorgeous series and separate living were introduced. But this game wasn't that good. After hearing about how bad this game is, I'm so glad that I didn't play for too long. What do they have good and bad in this game:
ACNL (New Leaf) - here it is, the best Animal Crossing game ever made. It is back on the portable system with much more features than ever before. With the box of limits so huge and the fact it's on a portable system, this is a true AC On the Go. I can play this in the car, I can play this in a hotel room, I can play this at a restaurant. I can play it anywhere. And what else, I can be mayor of the town. With more clothes introduced, rare fish becoming more common at the same price, a feature where you can build projects anywhere, and the fact that everyone gets their own house in any section with the same housing orientation Wild World had, there's nothing in the AC franchise any better than New Leaf.
That's it for the highlights of every game. You may comment if you like. There's nothing wrong with commenting, as long as it's appropriate and not spammy.

Also, the lack of interaction from faraway places and use of memory cards wasn't too appealing. But let me go over the stuff there was in this version:
- BEST: NES Games. The GameCube version may not have many features, but the one feature I like about the GameCube version the most is the NES games. All these retro games within games makes the GameCube version better than the other three. It's very understandable to see why that was taken out when Wild World came out, but it was one of the negative changes between GC and WW. As it never returned, this issue was solved in Animal Crossing: New Leaf as it was fused with another GC version feature that got dropped out in the next game. Like the NES Games, the Island Tours are mini-games within games, but only to get awards for better performances. But I like the retro games more like Donkey Kong 1981 and Excitebike (nice job making it a 3DS app Nintendo). Also, I like the journals, the dock in the big lake, personal island hut, and Redd selling no counterfeits. But the NES games are the winner.
- WORST: There are a lot of things that put the GameCube version towards the bottom of the list, but I would say that nothing in the GC version is any worse than the animals in the game. They are a lot meaner in the GC version than they are in the more recent versions, even the Normal villagers. Snooty villagers are snootier, Cranky villagers are very easy to anger, Peppy villagers are sneakier, animals may repaint your roof without permission, and they get rude when you talk to them too much. And don't even get me started on Resetti or Phyllis. What else is there to say? Oh, I do not like mailing fossils to another museum before I can donate to Blathers. Good thing he identifies fossils now, starting with Wild World.
Nevertheless, I will share its biggest strength and weakness:
- BEST: The Point System. Even if we don't need that anymore in New Leaf, I liked how you can earn discounts when you do more shopping. Each time you buy something big at Nook's Store, you get points, which equal the price divided by 100. If they brought it back in AC WiiU, it would be great. But for now, this is Wild World's biggest upside.
- WORST: How couldn't you know this? The holidays are Wild World's weakest point. I hate the holidays there. Between the GC version and Wild World, most of these holidays were taken out, not to save memory to fit into a cartridge, but to be politically correct. They wanted to reduce offensiveness, but the perverse effect happened. People complained about the lack or holidays, and I would agree with them. In my opinion, the only holiday I really liked is the Acorn Festival. Collecting stuff to earn prizes is fun. At least New Year's Eve/Day is a real holiday. Fireworks Festival was retained, but not as fun. Fishing Tourney was improved as the Bug-Off was added, so that's great. The Flower Fest is better off as a single holiday or removed completely. But the holidays I didn't like about the game is the rest, especially La-di Day and Yay Day. Those are truly fake holidays, and there's no purpose in them. I'm glad that they are removed in City Folk as they re-introduced the holidays from previous versions. But still, holidays is Wild World's biggest downfall.
- BEST: Optional downgrading of Nook's store. I never got to play to this point, but this is something I did like as I heard. Would I like more hours, more items, or a balance in between? Too bad they didn't have that in New Leaf, because the Night Owl Ordinance and Re-Tail made that obsolete. Maybe choosing your hours would be a good idea for AC WiiU, so you could still have short hours, but at least you can go shopping strictly at night.
- WORST: Oh boy, what can I say here? After hearing about some complaints, I think the grass deterioration is the worst part. Grass decays extremely fast, recovers very slowly, and does not recover when the system is off. After hearing about how bad this is, Little Big Planet Karting or PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale sound like they're better games to play than City Folk is (PSASBR isn't good as Smash Bros while LBPK is the worst LBP game ever made). This is how bad City Folk is. At least it isn't at the point where trash games are better. But City Folk is the worst AC game out there, and grass deterioration is the biggest flaw.
- BEST: Where do I start? There's too much to say, but my favorite part is the fact you can build Public Works Projects. My favorite ones have to be the Café, the lighthouse, and the illuminated projects. I put all of them on one side of the river, where the only inhabitants are the girls on my signature. I may never know how old my characters are, but I'll decide that all the inhabitants on the south side of the river in my town are 20-year olds, turning 21. I like how we can build projects anywhere, fund for projects, and celebrate their ceremonies. This is the heart of ACNL.
- WORST: Like I said in my previous entry, there's nothing worse in New Leaf than Club Tortimer. If it were more of an in-game problem rather than a community problem, it would have to be the freedom of villagers moving. This is frustrating. Ever since sign posts have been taken out, animals have more freedom than ever before. They can kill your hybrids and perfect fruit trees, mess up your plans for the town, and even move in front of your house. This issue is the biggest liability with New Leaf, and it's annoying. I hope they can resolve this. At least they aren't as mean or rude as they were in past games.
