Netflix and Jim Henson Productions have come together to produce a prequel TV series to the 1982 cult classic dark fantasy film 'The Dark Crystal', which did not feature a single human character.

Today, Netflix released the first trailer for the series and it. looks. phenomenal!

If you're new the series and are interested in diving in, you can watch the original 1982 film on Netflix RIGHT NOW and read the first three novels that tie in to the new series by author J.M. Lee, with the forth one coming out in July.

While not 100% necessary to enjoy the new series, characters and story beats from the books will appear and pop up within the story that Age of Resistance is trying to tell, which will further increase ones own enjoyment of the series.

I'm a massive Dark Crystal fanboy, if you can't tell.

Anyone else here excited for this new Netflix series coming 30th August? I Know i am! I love the original movie, The Dark Crystal from back in 1982 (i would've been 3 then). I've watched it more times than i can remember, so i'm really looking forward to The Dark Crystal - Age of Resistance!

Funko dropped some press photos of their line of mini figures and... Pop! figures... from the new show and they (the mini figures) look great!

Labyrinth was my first introduction to David Bowie as a kid, and I've been a fan of his ever since.

Heads up, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance is now available on Netflix. I've watched three episodes of it so far and it has blown away every single one of my expectations.
