So, recently, I've found it quite interesting how much Animal Crossing has evolved. Think about, we went from this...

to this.

I don't know about you, but that's a pretty big change to me. One can notice the immense difference of the stylistic variation between the two. Animal Crossing: Population Growing portrays a laid back life of walking around and participating in everyday activities. While you may say the same for the latter, it's easy to see that it's a lot more...well, modern. Elegant.

And that's just a minor part of the puzzle. It's not necessarily just the new features or gameplay mechanics that makes me say this. It's the aura that the game emanates. Let's face it; Animal Crossing is most likely going to turn into a possibly different game in the future. The same basis resides: you live in a peaceful, quiet little town as you manage your life like what clothes you'll wear, what your house looks like, etc. But, who knows, the series may take a new approach, like facing towards a broader demographic. It might just happen.

So, what you think? What do you imagine when you think of the future of Animal Crossing? Not just for the 3DS, beyond that. (I hope I don't look like a pretentious hipster going all deep and stuff, man)

Wow...... all this talk about the future of Animal Crossing has made me really think.
It's so different from it's days on the older systems graphically speaking.
Now I just have to wonder about things.

I wonder how multiple people living in a town is going to be handled. They could be servants! >:D XD

Animal Crossing is and will always be evolving. I predict the next addition to the genre might have a perspective change which could really alter how the game is played and felt. If we had a third person perspective from games like the Legend of Zelda the possibilities would be endless.

Here's a picture as an example of the perspective I would like: zelda8.jpg

(Edit) The picture came out smaller than expected so just click on it :)

Oh my word! I saw some of both videos and its like a completely different game! (Which they kind of are lol). The graphics are very different from each other. Both show the laid back approach, but when going to previous games I have noticed that the chat bubbles at the bottom are different. And the game cube version was good, but I felt the saving process a pain and the camera switching was ehh but at least that would help with the whole perfect town thing if they had that.

The 3D perspective would be useful for making the town look awesome.
You'd be able to see where your town needed help the most better than you can now.
^_^ I just love animal crossing!

I completely agree with the Zelda type camera controls for Animal Crossing. Would be a lot more useful for taking screenshots and looking up at the sky.

Wow, looking at the videos side by side to eachother makes a big difference. I'm really seeing now how much work is being put into AC:3DS! I can understand if they do release the game later this year!

Omg, I love the differences!
It almost makes you feel like the game is growing up with those who play it.

The new April Nintendo thing has came out and revealed new pictures. Look at this!

Look at the last one with the office. We go from an almost immature character running around his/her little town to a fully grown teenage buisness executive running an entire city. If that's not a hidden change in the style/demographic, then I don't know what is.
