So, wondering what to get for the Nintendo DS in the future? Look no further, for here, you can see the next killer apps for the DS... None of which you should miss out on.
These are in no particular order.
The New Super Mario Bros.
Impossible to hate, Mario's returning to his roots in The New Super Mario Bros. In an expansive singeplayer which spans over 10 worlds, covering 8 courses each, you won't be asking for more once this game is over. If you are indeed left wanting more, you can always turn to the competitive multiplayer mode, which should be a blast. If even that leaves you wanting more Mario goodness, why not try and give old minigames from Super Mario 64 DS in multiplayer mode a try, or perhaps some new added ones? Regardless of your cravings, The New Super Mario Bros. is sure to please.
Children of Mana DS
With absolutely stunning graphics and gameplay, this RPG is sure to entertain every RPG fan for days on end. The opening puts the one of Tales of Symponia to shame, even though it's on the DS, a system noticable underpowered when compared to the Gamecube. Even though Children of Mana DS isn't yet released in the United States, you can import it from http://www.play-asia.com for only $20 this weekend only. Not a deal you want to miss if you want (or need, in most RPG gamer cases) this game right now!
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Ah, finally, Zelda on the DS! A sequel to The Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker, Phantom Hourglass takes many gameplay ideas from its predescessor while succcesfuly adding new gameplay ideas, such as writing notes on the map, and using items with the Nintendo DS's touch screen. A specific release date was not given out, although the game is said to come out shortly before or after Twilight Princess, which should be sometime in November. Not adventures to miss, by any means, so be sure to grab both titles.
Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day
Another title in Nintendo's Touch Generation line-up, Brain Age is one of the most succesful DS games in Japan, selling around 2 million units to date. A game that's not a game, the main goal is to recieve a good brain score, showing how functional your brain is, while improving your productivity in every-day problems. The best possible score is 20, and even though the exercizes appear to be easy, if many are thrown at you, they do not seem so. This is another game which you need to play a little a day to truly enjoy it, and no doubt another killer app for the DS. The release date in the US is April 16th.

There are many other games that will no doubt be just as good, but we currently have very little information about them, examples being another installment in the Ys series and Final Fantasy III, which is to be remade in 3D. I hope this thread helps.
