The Island of Agrestis

Hello, the name's Khaelis and welcome to my newly rebooted island journal page for my island, Agrestis!​

I decided to remake my island journal page as I was no longer happy with my old island journal page and I just left it to fade out of existence. The way I was handling it and how much I had to share, it just eventually became extremely overwhelming and I just lost the motivation to continue. Having to constantly update it every day also slowly made my realize that my original plan just wasn't up to my own expectations, which leads me to today and the making of this thread.

Over the last few days, I have been using an online tool called Happy Island Designer to thoroughly draw and plan out my brand-new island, which I will sharing said plans today, but I will be working the island in game next week. The idea is that I wish to show you what I've planned up, and eventually show you the results and what it looks like in game once it is finished. Sort of a "before" and "after" thing. After that, I'll be slowly decorating it to truly make it something to behold, as well as just general information about my island such as my residents, or just random pictures I take.

Anyways, I think I've blabbered on for long enough, so let's get into the newly designed Agrestis!

I tried to draw out the beaches, river mouths, etc to be as identical to my island in game, but I imagine it isn't perfect so please bear with me a little. Though I don't think it matters to most of you, but whatever!

Now, this definitely isn't finalized which should be obvious enough, but I decided to go with a valley design with a river running down the middle of it and both sides of the valley are mountainous areas where the island residents, and myself, live our lives. The area leading off of the airport is and open field design to act as an entrance, or at least that is my current plan. I'm not entirely sure, I may build up the mountainous area up a bit more. As I mentioned above, I'll update the image with any changes I may make over the next couple days. As for theme, I'm likely going to go with a natural theme since this island is themed around a valley and mountains.

Making a quick post to let you folks I made an edit to my island's plans.

I noticed that my island was lacking a river on the cliffs, which would mean I couldn't catch certain fish. Soooo, I had to shuffle around a few things, but I added a river on the cliffs that flows into the main river.

Riiiight, I know I said I wasn't gonna start for another few days but I got in the mood so I decided to terraform the river ahead of time since I had the area cleared out. Here's the finished product of said river:

So, got bored again and I got around to finished the first cliff level entirely. Here are the results:

Plan is to work on the second level of cliffs on the east side of the river tomorrow.

Uhhhh, sorry for not updating this the past while, kinda decided to take it slow the past week-ish. Also got slightly addicted to Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition. That didn't help much.

Anyways, just finished the main terraforming, so thought I'd update everyone on it and show it off. No where close to finished, but the landscape is now finished at least.

So, kinda left this thread alone for a while, but since I've decided to remodel my island again, figure I may as well make use of this thread a bit more again. I'll try to post a bit later tonight.

Well, I got to work and for the most part, this is what I've done on my island so far. The only thing a little bit off is the river, since it appears the river mouth on here is potentially off by one tile so it sort of off set my river a little. I managed to work around it, but for the most part the river on here is about 95% accurate.

I've got a really neat idea for the bottom right area, I just need to figure out a way to get it to work.

Gonna re-do this thread later, probably. Needs a lot of sorting out considering how much has changed on my island so far.
