The joys of not finding your town/mayor name in the DA database

Am I the only one who takes great pleasure in NOT finding my town and/or mayor name in the Dream Suite?

Of course Balamb is in there, and I fully expected that; it's too well-known for it not to be.

Considering that my hubby created the town name for my all-bunny town, I wasn't surprised not to find that one. And I was really hoping Gemedet wouldn't be in there. After all, I doubt there are many (if any) fans of the Myst books who also play Animal Crossing.

Anyway, I just kinda like being the (presumably) only one with a certain town name.

How about you?

It's nice, because then people can just click on your name using the search mayor/town name then enter a long dream address.

And if your name is very uncommon and in there, it makes you think someone used hacks to copy your town.

I like searching the database before I start a new town to get an idea of how popular the names I want to use are. The less results there are the better!

I like visiting other Pawnees and talking to the residents so they know, I think it's cute. Someone called Grandon from Pawnee visited me ages ago, and I love it when my villagers talk about them

I'm trying to get my Drem Badge and go to random towns a lot, and about a third of them are called Paris, and another third are either New York or London. Have some originality!

There's a bunch of Solstices, and that doesn't bother me... I still think it's a great name for a town, and mine in particular. I wouldn't change it. But I do like that there are currently no dream towns named Chenille. c:

I still got my old Archmell town in the database. However, it wasn't on its latest DA update so I can't compare the progress I made to my old Archmell to my new Archmell.
I don't really get it, as far as I remember I last updated the old Archmell town by late November and Roald, Gladys, and Lionel moved out. Willow, Tia, and Stitches moved in. Does the Dream Suite revert your old town in its very first update when you deleted it?

And oh man... visiting the old Archmell gave me too much cringe and feels at the same time.

That's weird. I thought ACNL banned that name. I couldn't name my pattern design Viola for some reason.

My town is the only Nectere I've heard about so far.

My 2 old towns that I've since reset weren't in the database for anything other than me, because I always picked really neat names that nobody else had used. They were LLuvia and Arryire and when I used them there wasn't any others by those names. Now my 2 current towns have super simple and common names but I'm alright with that, it's what I wanted for those towns.

I remember when I first uploaded my dream to the Dream Suite and I was the only Laputa. Now there's a whole bunch of us but that doesn't bother me too much.

I've never really checked how many towns there are in the Dream Suite named "Absalom"... but given that the name originates from a super-geeky roleplaying game that I absolutely love, I kinda doubt there's very many.

Meh. I'm not picky about others having the same town or mayor name that I do... but I still cringe every time I'm random visiting in the Dream Suite and come across a town named Hyrule.

Now THAT's an overused town name!

It makes me really happy too. There are a small amount of people called "Mitsuko" and also "Lantern Town" but no one else is both Mitsuko from Lantern Town.
I am literally the only one.

i checked out the database to see how many people had platinum as their town name. it turns out it isn't an original town name, as i've found out that about 20 players also use that town name. i still think it sounds pretty regardless of how overused it may be.

as for my mayor's name, about 50 people use the same name as my mayor's. i wasn't expecting for this name to be overused, but i shouldn't be surprised either since it is a somewhat popular girl's name, haha.

Well I see now, that's still dumb. Lol if it's something like Viola, Violet, Violetta, etc it shouldn't be censored xD. It must depend on where you live or something cause the game never told me I couldn't use it.

Much to my dismay, there are other Mistvales.. Oh well.
However... I think I'm the only Nicole living in a Mistvale, if that counts for anything.

I actually think Viola is a really pretty name ;v; Violetta too.
That's too bad if that's what it actually means in another language... I'll have to ask my mom later. (She speaks Spanish natively.) But I've always thought those are really nice names... :I

So do I, that's why I was shocked! I've been naming my character Viola since wild world, I'd be disappointed if I weren't allowed to call her that anymore. That really is too bad, hope your mom can further confirm!
