• Guest, you're invited to help build our new TBT time capsule! It contains three parts, with some of its elements planned to open in 2029 and others not until the distant future of 2034. Get started in 2024 Community Time Capsule: Blueprints.

The museum

Maybe Blathers will come with you and the other starting islanders to study the species on the island, and set up the museum from the start. I certainly hope there's something like that, since I don't want to have to hold onto everything I collect until I finally unlock the museum somehow.

Otherwise, I imagine it'll be like the museums in all the other games, except maybe we'll get to upgrade it or something - an otherwise mostly deserted island with a giant museum just doesn't make sense.

From the trailers it's hard to tell if the museum will be available from the start, but I think it's unlikely, considering we don't even have bridges lol. From an aesthetic point of view, I think it will look pretty much the way it did in the previous games. Hoping both Blathers and Celeste will return, obviously!

I hope that the museum will be available since the start because we can dig up fossil ... we really need more informations of new horizon (so many questions in my mind)

this sounds like a great idea and fitting with the island theme! I'm also hoping we build each facility from the ground up too, but hopefully it wont take too long to unlock everything.

I could imagine that the museum is at the beginning just a small house that gets upgraded over the
time into an much bigger building the more stuff you collect for Blathers. Part of me also really hopes
that the observatory will be back this time. I really don't need the museum shop and those rooms from
New Leaf back.

The observatory coming back would be cool, but I would like the customizable rooms as well. They were a great way for me to display furniture in creative ways I never imagined before.

I wish they would at least tell us what buildings will still be in the game.

It's hard to reply to anything when we don't know what to expect.

I hope the museum is still there.
If it is, I'd like to see the tanks improved, as well as the bug enclosures and fossil displays.

It wouldn't be the same without Blathers, so keep him in the game.

I'd like the Roost to be part of the museum again as well as the observatory.

Just a side note: because the customizable rooms were one of my favorite features in New Leaf, if they were to somehow remove it from the museum, do you think it would be possible to simply move them to another location and let someone else other than Celeste take control of them?

I liked having them in the museum. I just didn't like walking to Main Street over and over, to move items there.

Well, I never really had a use for them and honestly, I was disappointed over the fact that they removed
the observatory because of these rooms, it felt for me kinda like a downgrade. After all, I don't mind if
they want to bring back the rooms, but then maybe in a separate building or just add another floor to
the museum.

I think it would be cool if we started out having to mail artifacts to Blathers. Maybe after a certain point he would be enticed to come open a museum because of all the valuable items that are being found on the island.

Yeah, I won't lie, that did get tedious...

That's actually a really creative idea! I've never thought of that before, but it would be cool though!

I know some people hated Blathers talking too much and explaining every insect, fish and I think art(?) that you donated to him and in the past installments, but I really liked that about the old Animal Crossing. Now (New Leaf), when you donate anything to him, he goes on about how everything reminds him of when he was in his nest and it's really not Blathers unless he rambles about all the stuff that interest him and goes into it with full detail, in my opinion. Even if it could be anoying. Maybe they should add a skip feature by pressing start like Fire Emblem for players who don't want to read all of it or are replaying the game and already know what's going to be said.

I hope they add better music with more notes and more variety for each room and I really like the aquarium in New Leaf, maybe they can expand on it and make aquariums even bigger with a full panoramic view of the area?

Oh, and please bring Celeste's observatory back.
