Since everybody time travels, they should save the effort and use it for more features instead.

I hate to be a bother but, then how would the game progress? Would it be similar to HHD where you end each day by saving?

You serious? I'm so against that idea, lol. I mean, this whole real time clock thing is what makes animal crossing.. well.. animal crossing ?\_(ツ)_/?

Not everybody time travels, most people don't do it because it's not a function of the game. Skipping ahead also ruins the enjoyment of the game, as you're breaking the pacing of achieving something. It's more fun to take it one day at a time.

.... or, They could completely eradicate time travel by making it work like splatoon 2, it's checking the time off the region.

I wouldn't be against them removing the option of time travel all together. Hell, it'd be interesting because it'd let them add content relevant to the time of year, as the time of year happens. Again, kinda like splatoon. No one could see christmas etc till they wanted us to see is, they could really surprise us with what happens.

Not to be rude or anything, but why should it be removed if it only affects the game of the player who does it? Nobody else besides the player has to deal with the impact which gets caused by changing the time. I mean, if you don't want to do it then simply don't do it. And to say "Since everybody time travels..." is not fair point here, as there are in fact many people playing the game in the "normal" way, some are even completely against time traveling. Besides, the game using the real time clock is what made and still makes Animal Crossing so special. And I think if time travel would be so bad, then Nintendo would have done something about it way earlier, but I guess since they didn't done anything against it, it seems they don't have a problem with it and just want to give the player the freedom to do with the game what they want.

So yeah, I'm against the idea of removing the real time clock. It should stay in the way it is. Anything else would be just dumb and kinda ruins the game/Animal Crossing in general.

Personally I never time travel because I feel like it ruins the game. Just because some people use a feature in a different way than it was intended doesn't mean everyone should be punished. I can't really imagine Animal Crossing without a real time clock, it would feel like a different game.

No they should leave it :)
I know games like harvest moon or sims have a speedier clock and I hate that because it speeds up the clock to fast. I like that this one is based on real life time and I have the option to time travel.

Leave the clock...

But don?t have it show up ALLLLLLLLL THE. TIMEEEEE ON THE SCREEN

/rant that?s been on my AC wish list since 2002

This would be such a big improvement for screenshots. I like to take a lot of screenshots, so I'm constantly having to battle the clock whenever my character stays still for more than a second. It's such an unnecessary eyesore when it comes to screenshots.

My post was based on the fact that most people I see here on these forums, use time travel so I just assumed it would be easier if it was removed from the game, it might even help give us more features because it will allow the developers to work on other things.

It was just a thought. I am not bothered either way, I am not against time travel - though I have never used it myself - if they did remove the real time clock out of the game and it instead had it's own speedier clock, I wouldn't mind that also.

I really don't think a real time functioning clock is that taxing on developers to implant. especially in this day and age

Yeah, jumping on with everyone else to say that the real-time clock is the reason that I play the game in the first place. It makes sense that people who are going to play the game more intensely and with a completionist mindset are gonna be time traveling.

I sincerely doubt they get rid of it. The entire point of the real time clock is that Animal Crossing is meant to emulate the real world. Resetti's rants are literally about how you don't get to "redo" real life, and they always have been. HHD is one thing, but changing the real-time clock in a main series game would be changing one of the core things people come to expect from Animal Crossing. Also, there's a wide, wide world of people outside of this forum who play AC. If people want to TT and play faster, then they can do that. If people want to take the game day by day, those people should have that option as well.

Your logic is flawed, if -you assume that- most people time travel, why would getting rid of that ability be easier? It really just makes things harder. Do you really want to be up at 2am hunting that one bug or fish that never shows up? Do you want to wait a whole year if you miss one holiday?

Plus I hate the idea of the clock being set as our clock in our region PURELY AND SOLELY for the fact that, it would require a steady WiFi connection for that to work, like Pocket Camp. What happens when you don't have WiFi for whatever reason? Go days without playing, only to miss holidays, events, sales, villagers moving ect...?

As someone who doesn't have WiFi at all, making this a thing would be the worse thing to happen to the game series, imo.

I personally disagree. I'm someone who time travels but I prefer Animal Crossing time mechanics over something like Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons. Even though that series is also geared towards being more relaxing/casual (and it definitely can be!) I feel like the days go by so quick - almost too quick, and that stresses me out. With Animal Crossing I have genuinely all day to get things done so it rarely feels like I'm racing against the clock to complete my tasks.

Plus with the Animal Crossing clock being customizable if I do feel like the day is rushing by I can rewind it or if it's going to slowly I can jump ahead.

I do hope that they tweak the real time clock mechanic in some aspects though. Namely the villager move ins and move outs. I really dislike how it feels like the player is punished for not being able to play the game every day. Missing holidays, special events, etc, I'm okay with - but having my villagers abruptly leave and/or new ones suddenly appear leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
