Earlier today, I started writing a story about pokemon. This was going to be my idea for NaNoWriMo, but I completely forgot about that until today. So I'm just writing this for fun instead. It will be pretty long since it was going to be for NaNo, but it wont be quite as long as it would have been.
Anyway, I've never wrote a story on such a big scale before (longest I've wrote that was good was about 2k words, but this will be much longer when it's finished. Since I've not done this before, it might not be very good, so constructive criticism is not only accepted but appreciated, so I can see how good it is.

Ever wondered where pokemon came from? Where they created by something, people perhaps? Or maybe they evolved from something just like humans did from apes? I wondered too, until recently. It was about a month ago, when I was sitting at home, playing with my adorable little Litwick when the whole thing started. My little brother, Jamie, was outside in the garden, having a battle with a friend of his, Callum. They are both only 8 and don't have their own pokemon yet, so Jamie was battling with our Dad's Eevee, and I had let Callum borrow my Pichu. It was quite a shock to Jamie when Eevee suddenly started glowing blue in the middle of a battle. He started crying, and shouting, so I came rushing out. I'll admit, I was surprised too, since Dad had only caught Eevee recently, so I didn't think it would evolve so soon. Regardless, I ran over to Jamie to comfort him, whilst watching as the Eevee evolved into a sleek, purple espeon. All the while, Callum just stood by in awe, as he had never seen a pokemon evolve before, just like Jamie.
Dad must have heard all of the noise from upstairs, as he stuck his head out of the bedroom window. He looked at me, then Jamie, then at the Espeon, before disappearing from the window. He must have noticed Jamie crying, because when he emerged from the door a few minutes later, he brought with him a tin of biscuits to make Jamie feel better. Expecting Dad to be mad at him, since he didn't ask to use the Eevee in a battle, Jamie hid behind me. However, Dad was the complete opposite of mad. He was overjoyed!
For the next 20 minutes, we sat on the picnic bench eating the biscuits and drinking hot chocolate that Mom had made for all of us while we talked about what happened. Jamie and Callum told dad all about the battle, and about what happened when Eevee evolved. By this time, Espeon was back in it's pokeball, which was just lying on the grass, Retrieving it, I handed it to Dad, who proceeded to give it to Jamie.
"Here son. She's yours now." He said. Then, he explained that he was planning to give that Eevee to Jamie anyway, so that he could come on a journey with me. Jamie started crying again, but this time they were tears of joy rather than fear or sadness. Dad had this planned for a while, but had kept it a secret from Jamie. He would obviously not be allowed to go on a journey on his own, despite asking Mom and Dad several times, because he was only eight. I, on the other hand, am fifteen, and I had decided a month previously to go on a journey around Kalos. Mom had no objections to this, but Dad told me that I would have to wait a while, because he wanted to surprise Jamie with the chance to go on a journey.
