The Pelicans

Phyllis, Pelly or Pete? Who do you prefer? What are your thoughts on them?

When I was younger, I didn't like Phyllis that much and didn't understand that Phyllis and Pelly were separate characters lol
I like all the pelicans. Although I find myself annoyed with Pete the most
I wish that they were in New Horizions!! It is so sad that they aren't!!! Curse you Nintendo..

i love all the pelicans so so much they're probably my favorite special characters these days now that i carry mail irl

i can see why u got beef with pete because he be giving pelly the coldest shoulder and he also be getting too comfy with phyllis but i gotta rep my boy

i like the trio equally though and i really enjoyed their dynamic!! im very sad they were relegated to a postcard stand at the airport in NH and i hope they fix this in the next installment and if staff reads this i hope they make pelican plush bird collectibles

Though I'm not a postal worker and they're not my absolute favorite special characters, I pretty much echo everything else Jav said in his post.

Birds are my favorite animals on the planet, and as such, I'm quite fond of the various bird special characters, including the pelicans. I enjoy the pelicans' dynamic and like them all essentially the same amount; Phyllis's brash personality is more pronounced and stands out from Pete and Pelly, it wouldn't be too far of a stretch for me to say that she's the "best" because of that, but I really do just vibe with all three of them.

Their presence was missed in New Horizons, hopefully they'll return in the next game, and hell yeah I'd totally be up for pelican plush collectibles here on the forums eventually if the Staff ever felt like going down that route. Though, first, we need a Blathers Chick Plush to go with the Celeste Chick Plush. Please.

Pelly was my favorite when I was younger, but now I think I love them all equally. It's hilarious talking to Phyllis, and I like seeing Pete walking around town sometimes! It's so sad that they weren't included in New Horizons, they add so much charm to the games.

I liked them, they were good characters. The love triangle between them was really interesting in, especially in Wild World. I honestly kind of like Phyllis being snarky and grumpy all the time and it’s kind of disappointing that it was toned down a ton in New Leaf, as well as their entire relationship in general. It was definitely disappointing that they were replaced by a card stand in New Horizons, they did NOT need to do them dirty like that. That happening made me lose all interest in sending letters anymore.

They were a fun trio, Pelly was my favorite. I think Phyllis only acted rude because she hated her job and she was taking her anger out on everyone. I'm more neutral towards Pete, however. With him around talking about Phyllis and how she didn't like him felt like watching a soap opera, haha.

I'm not quite a fan of how Nintendo seems to be comparing them to a card stand in New Horizons. It's like saying Pelly, Pete, and Phyllis are just objects.

I like the pelicans. My favorite would probably be Pelly. Phyllis intimated me when I was a child, so I tried to avoid her as much as possible, but I don't dislike her.

I always loved Pelly since she's so sweet.Pete was fun to see since you could only catch him at certain times. as a kid I never liked Phyllis much since she was well... abrasive lol. she scared me a bit! the worst part was that I didn't catch on for a while and realize she only worked the desk at night so I would be scared to visit the post office in general! eventually I caught on though, and avoided it only in the evening. as I got older of course I wasn't bothered by her and thought she was pretty funny.

like others said, I love birds! but they're some of my favorite special characters. they're unique and I miss them dearly!

I would say Phyllis is my favorite because of her personality! While most characters in the game are super cheerful and upbeat, Phyllis is just unapologetically herself. She’s tired, grumpy, and not afraid to tell it like it is, especially if you bother her during the night shift. It’s hilarious, and honestly refreshing. She brings a different kind of energy that makes the game feel more real, and I totally relate to her.

Phyllis used to be my favourite, just because of her colouring. But I think I like them all just about almost equally, don’t know who I like the most.

Would be cool to see Pete delivering mail in the next game, but I kind of do understand why the pelicans weren’t in New Horizons. It was a small deserted island with a small village built on it, I assume Pete would be busy with the town on the mainland. Tho, I do suppose they could have had him running around running around delivering mail and just say something like “Oh, the main land isn’t too far. I can fly over here and deliver mail in this small village, too”
