So today I decided to try my luck at breeding a shiny Buneary, because 1) Mega Lopunny in OR/AS. And 2) who doesn't want a fluffy pink bunny?
I already had one of the things I needed - a Buneary with 5IVs.
But I needed a foreign Buneary to increase my chances of getting a shiny..
Lucky for me, I had some spare 5IV Buneary, and I dumped one into the GTS, asking for a Buneary of any level or gender, and to make it easier to get one whose language wasn't English, I set my message in simple English that just about anyone could understand: "Not English! ok?".
Soon, the Buneary I put in the GTS had been traded. I wasn't too thrilled though, because I was expecting it to have lousy IVs..
But then I took it to the IV checker and was pleasantly surprised when I learned that it had 5IVs - in all of the stats I wanted.
And so, my breeding "adventure" began - I gave my Buneary a Power Bracer, and the Japanese Buneary that I had been given the Destiny Knot.
54 eggs in, however, I still had no shiny.. and had only 2 or 3 Buneary with the nature I wanted - but only 1 had the IVs I wanted (the Father).
So to fix that problem, I swapped my Buneary's Power Bracer with an Everstone.
And for awhile, it didn't seem to be helping much. I mean, sure, it helped with the nature.. But all of the Buneary I was hatching only had 4IVs at the most.
Eventually, though, I started getting 5IV Buneary - much to my relief.
My egg count is at 100 now, and I think that's where I'll stop today - I'm getting sleepy..
I'll try and hatch at least 100 eggs every day until I get the shiny 5IV Adamant Buneary I want!
