The return of turnips?

Turnips have always been in the game. I don't see Joan coming right off the bat but you could possibly unlock it later in the game, or at least unlock a place you could travel to to get them. I didn't participate in the turnip market much because one, I didn't have the storage to hold a million dollars worth of turnips and two, I kept forgetting to check with Reese how much they were worth. And after playing for years on the same NL cartridge I really had all the money I was going to need and didn't want to risk over buying and then losing the money I did have.

If you were to purchase turnips and go to the Turnip Prices Thread to find a good price to sell your turnips at, you?d be making good profit. So I sometimes buy turnips and check with my 3DS and my brothers too, and if the prices aren?t looking good, I?d check the thread to find a good price. I?m guessing they?re going to keep them for NH too, which is good. And for some reason when I saw this thread I immediately thought of red turnips. And I just saw someone comment that, too. I?m really hoping they bring both white and red turnips to NH.

The "is it possible this feature will be removed in the game" threads are getting so obnoxiously old now. I am mad at myself for making some. Just wait and we'll see how irrelevant they all are when every important feature from NL is officially confirmed to return in NH.

I dont use it only to get rotten food for the ant and fly is i hadnt gotten them already

this forum is entirely speculation at this point, so I think people speculting about features that may be disappearing in the new game is entirely valid. The new AC is so drastically different simply style wise in this new instalment and we have total control over everything on the island, so yes it is really easy to think 'they might get rid of this feature in the new game'

^ Exactly. I mean, what else do we have ACNH wise, before they release new information? Fans are gonna wanna talk about their fave game... and the information given out has been minimal. I don't think there's anything wrong with people chatting about it to try and tide over the long wait.

honestly i'd be so sad if Joan was removed in the new game, but selling turnips has been in all animal crossing games for years now. it just wouldn't be the same if was in horizons. but maybe instead of turnips, there could be twist like coconuts ? idk something beach-y

While I do like Joan as a character, I was never so much into the whole turnip business. So I don't care if
they come back or not to be honest.

Per an interview with Nintendo Insider on the game, Ms. Kyogoku mentions turnips twice, once as a way to communicate with friends to find the best prices and the other as her preferred money-making method. While this doesn't confirm anything, I doubt turnips would have been mentioned if they weren't returning.

Like others have said, it's probably something we unlock after a little bit to help possibly pay for bigger mortgages and who knows what else in the later game.

Here's the full interview if you haven't seen it yet: https://www.nintendo-insider.com/animal-crossing-new-horizons-interview-multiplayer-turnip-prices-tom-nook-and-more/

It would have surprised me if Joan and the legendary turnips wouldn't have come back in this game.
Thanks for sharing this interview, I really enjoy reading those.
