Ok so I know how to catch these guys in NL without getting murdered. My friends who are new to Animal Crossing keep finding them all over their islands. It took like 2 hours of playing before I finally spotted one. I was ready to catch it.

But then spider boi just disappeared...

I'll try again tomorrow night, time to go to bed.

I didn’t have a net the first time I saw it! The second time I had my net and just crept up on it very slowly. When it reared back I stopped and then started again when it calmed down.

I literally saw several of them tonight in the span of like three hours or so. They spawned like crazy in my island tonight. Still haven't caught one yet but I'm sure I will soon enough. They're so creepy looking and they always make me jump :^)

Saw one of these, but they ran away before I could catch them. Also, apparently you get NookMiles if they bite you? That’s what my friend said based on experience.

I managed to catch one on my first try! I'm more worried about the scorpions honestly. . . ;_ ;

Caught one as well, thinking the scorpions may be a different season because I’ve only seen tarantulas so far.

Weirdly enough I caught it the first time I saw it but I’m struggling to catch another. Must have just been lucky.

I saw one 3 times and it got me every single time. Tonight is the night though. Do they only appear on that plaza area or was that a coincidence?

I got bitten by a scorpion and fainted (already had bee stings). I got a 300 Nook Mile achievement for fainting. :/

Had a stare off with a tarantula for ten minutes straight because I didn't dare to move. When I moved he went bananas and ran after me. Eventually he got me and I fainted. I'm traumatized

I just encountered one on the beach but I failed catching it :'( I hope I can find another one, I need to get one for Blathers and one to keep in my house. (I have pet tarantulas irl hehe)

I got attacked by a tarantula tonight but I did get Nook miles for fainting. I had my net out but I never caught one in NL so didn't know what I was meant to do... Next time, tarantula!

When I woke from the little tutorial nap and went to meet Tom Nook outside my tent there was one like RIGHT at my door. Pretty sure if Tom Nooks desire to give me my phone hadn't overriden him I would have been surprise murdered by it. Such things would not do well for selling more island getaway packages to my island, methinks. XD

I wish you all could have seen my face when I walked out of that tent though! I'm sure it was priceless!

I saw three tarantulas last night! Caught two of them

Ok, this is my 4th time being KO'd by a tarantula after running around frantically for only like 5 minutes trying to find them. How do you catch them? ;__;

saw a couple of tarantulas before i got my net, then when i finally got one, i messed up on catching it and it bit me!!

from experience, you need to slowly approach by holding A, then if they raise onto hind legs, stop and wait for them to keep on about their business. keep doing so until you can get close enough and WHACK release a and hope for the best
