Based on the Half-Life video game series, The Tower of Life takes place in a large city known only as City 16, controlled by a hostile alien force known as the Combine. The Combine inhabit a wide majority (if not the entirety) of the planet, fighting against a legion of brave rebels (known as The Resistance) attempting to regain control of the planet.
A mythical hero known as Gordon Freeman is rumoured to be on his way to save them, but with no sign of him, the rebels have decided to take matters into their own hands and wage a war on the Combine without his help.
Meanwhile, the Combine are in talks to completely destroy the city and turn it into a landmass of dimensional portals, which will allow more of their species to come and increase their chances of eradicating the human race.

There are a total of five rounds in one single game, and on each round dead players are resurrected as a different class, depending on how they were killed and where.
All players will start out as a civilian, and if continuously loyal to the Combine, will gain higher rank, eventually leading to becoming a member of Civil Protection (the Combine's version of the police), rewarding them with the ability to help keep City 16 under the control of the Combine. Players can also become Resistance members and become rebels. Rebels are able to leave City 16, provided they are not captured by Civil Protection. Attempting to escape from City 16 is considered a crime, and punishment is fatal.
If you are a Resistance member, winning the game is done by getting all civilians out of City 16 and destroying the Citadel (the Combine's main headquarters from which they govern the city and the planet). To become a rebel, you must escape through the underground tunnels and make it to a refugee site. If there isn't one, you can form one yourself for other civilians to escape to.
If you are a civilian (which all players start out as), you must either wait for another player to become a rebel and free you, or become one yourself. Civilian life is a chore in itself, coping with frequent apartment raids and risking your life by getting in the way of anybody, so it's recommended that you advance to one of the other two ranks.
If you are a member of Civil Protection, you must make sure the rebels make little to no progress, and keep all civilians in the city. If one escapes, it's your job to venture out to other locations (with or without other Combine units) and destroy their refugee campsites, which isn't always a guaranteed success. If there are no more rebels to kill, and no other civilians have become rebels before the end of the fifth round, the Combine automatically win the game.
The entirety of the game is managed by an entity (played by me) called the Overwatch, which can progress the game, cause in-game disruptions, and announce when a round has ended or began.

There are two different types of weaponry in the game: the pistol, and the AR2.
Role-play fight sequences are operated by a "one shot per post" rule, which means nobody can take advantage of another player by shooting repeatedly in a single post.
Weapons are acquired automatically when a civilian advances to a rebel or a Civil Protection cop. Rebels get pistols and Civil Protection gets AR2s.
All players have 10 health bars. The AR2 takes five bars and the pistol takes a mere three, and so you have to shoot four times to kill somebody with one. Health bars for every player are restored at the start of every round, so you must survive until that point.
It's recommended that rebels fight alongside other rebels so that they can cause more damage. Between one rebel and one Civil Protection cop, the Civil Protection cop will win.
At the end of every round, dead players will become Civil Protection cops and help to kill the remaining rebels. Dead civilians do not come back and are eliminated from the entirety of the game.

At the start of every post, you must put the name of your current location so everyone knows where you are and what part of the game you are in. Here are all the locations accessible in the game (subject to rank and progression of the game):
The apartment is the most basic area a player can get to. All civilians live in apartments like this, and the Combine frequently organise raids to find potential rebels and illegal items, such as any kind of weaponry or defense.
If you manage to become a rebel and escape the city, this is where you will end up. You keep going until you locate a campsite or decide to form your own.
City 16 is the main base for all Combine units, and the rebels must come back here with other rebels at some point to help other civilians to escape and to (in the end) destroy the Citadel.
Campsites are a very important part of the game. At the start, there are none, but as soon as someone escapes and builds one, other rebels can assist other civilians in escaping to the campsite. There can be one campsite per rebel, but only one campsite can be built (or destroyed) per round.
The Citadel is the most important structure in the game, as its destruction leads to the victory of the Resistance.

Have at least one paragraph in each of your posts.
Don't go OOC. You can contact me privately if you wish to leave or have any questions.
Good grammar, punctuation, and spelling is a necessity, but I'm not super strict about it. As long as people can understand you, you're good.
Don't use emoticons in your posts.
Don't go against the rules of the game. If your character dies, they are dead and can't come back to life. Deaths of the previous round are officially announced at the start of each round.
Character relationships are allowed, but please discuss it with those involved beforehand.

If you are interested in participating, simply post here and say so. Once we have a minimum of four players, the first Overwatch transmission will be posted and the game can begin.
