The TT debate is nonsense.

I'm somewhat disappointed right now with the Animal Crossing Community. Why are people getting so heated over others playing their game the way they like? It's not harming anyone personally. But here we are, bashing people for enjoying a game about walking and talking animals that meant to be relaxing. I've always loved the Animal Crossing community because it was always so chill and laid back, but this nonsense of getting angry with people who play a different way is sickening. Just let people do what makes them happy, please?

I havn't seen any attacks. What I see the most is those that are time traveling that want to justify themselves.

Anyone can play the game like he or she wants true. So if people don't want to have to do anything with time travelers in the game, they are free to set those parameters. The knife cuts two ways.

You can say you want to play like you want to, someone else can say he doesn't want to play with you under those rules.

For me there is no discussion I do not mind time travelers, at the same time I do think they might somehow break down the fun of the game. (For those that are tempted to sell nook mile tickets for 400.000 thousand bells. They kind of wring out the fun of exploring the island themselves, and getting easy bells... Which makes the game more boring in my opinion. Of course there's people happy with it but I rather not for myself, so I don't advice others to do it.)

If time travelers are angry that they are being excluded by someone, I will tell them that they also exclude others. I for example cannot compete with the economy cause of time traveling. Do I mind? Not by much as this is the type of game that attracts all kinds of crowds, and that means there's also grown up people that like to share and play together.

Giving and receiving gifts is way more fun then the whole trading thing. I like to play the game with others as if I'm a villager, share, ask favors, help people etc... I think it's fun.

I made a friend the other day in Animal crossing and she said she would keep an eye out if she saw any outfits I would like for my character. I mailed her a piece of furniture I found of which I thought she would like it.

This is how I like to play and as long as there's people that agree with my way of playing I'll have friends enough. ;)

Those that like to timetravel and become rich in bells and all that jazz... I'm to old for that now, for me animal crossing feels nice, I like the patience it requires.

The only real debate I have seen between TTers and non-TTers is over the economy. Trading and that.

Some TTers have been charging ridiculous amounts for things, like in the replies above, 400k for a Nook Miles Ticket, bearing in mind that the game sets the rate of Nook Miles to Bells at 8 miles to 30 bells (there is an item called a Bells Ticket that gives you 3000 bells, costing 800 miles). This is a ridiculous amount of money, and they can charge that if they want, but they shouldn't be surprised by a lack of customers, ESPECIALLY non-TTer customers.

Some non-TTers are setting up rules about not trading with TTers. I am one of them, I would not buy from a TTer. I would sell to one though. I don't think there's anything really wrong with this, but again, these people shouldn't be surprised if they find they lack a market (although I think this side will have much less of an issue with this.)

But other than that I've seen nothing. I definetely view it as 'cheating' but people can cheat in their own game if they want. Just don't bring your trading near mine because I don't want to get mixed up with the economy you are messing with. (TTers who charge sensible amounts are cool, however I still wouldn't buy from them because I want to gain all my items through completely normal gameplay means.)

I don't know threads you're reading or what community you're talking about but I, personally haven't seen anyone attacking time travelers. People are discussing it, but attacking, I don't see any attacking. I'm confused. :(

Be thankful.

Agreed...why are people trying to put this community in a bad light? We aren't twitter or reddit or anywhere else people seem to think time travellers are being bullied. This generally a really great group of people. Let's not spread any more stress over this. =(

Could I get some clarification on what this means exactly? Let's suppose that someone decides to forward their calendar 1 day and they encounter an amazing shirt in their store and purchase this shirt. Is this shirt an illegitimate item? Even though it would still naturally spawn in their store had they instead opted to wait the day out in realtime?

My thing is why do we need a new thread almost everyday about it? I understand people like debating and discussing it but there are plenty of threads that you can go read and rely if you so desire. From what I have seen people opinions about it aren’t easily change they either love, hate or don’t care about it. The threads exist pass the first page who knew lol go read them.

Dupers are the problem not time travelers. I don't care how other people play their game as long as they're not exploiting glitches and they're nice to me. lmao

i take it you're not in any facebook groups for animal crossing. they're everywhere and they're vocal asf. one group i'm in completely banned any mention of time traveling because of the amount of spats and nastiness that comes from arguments.

It's why I made my thread, the last TT thread I was in, everyone felt attacked and on edge. I feel bad because even though I wasn't trying to hurt people's feelings they still took offense to it. I didn't name call, or shame anyone but there I was being told to "shut up", and being called an "idiot" at one point. Like I don't understand why people get so upset, it'd be one thing if I went in there and bashed and sent them hate. I feel sorry that I hurt those people to the point where they felt the need to say such crude things to me.

I know what you mean. Despite the original post on this thread, I'm actually seeing way more hostility from time travellers around here. You mention even one time that you are against time travelling and aren't choosing to do it, they are behaving as if you are personally insulting every one of their family members. Or try to twist it around as if they are being persecuted and bullied. It's difficult to have any mature discussions and friendly debates. No one is meaning any harm and I'm left a bit speechless at the sensitivity of some people. I wish we could all just accept that everyone has their own play style and respect people's personal boundaries and decisions. Just because someone doesn't want to trade with a time traveller for example, doesn't mean we wish death upon them

Yes, it my opinion, it would be. I don't care if they want that shirt, whatever, go for it, how they play their game is none of my business, however I would not buy anything from these people because to me, TTing is cheating and I do not want any items that have the potential of being obtained via cheating. But if people wanna do it and get stuff for themselves that way, it's no skin off my nose.

I don't think it's the time travelers. It's the duplicators. Every time I go to the Nook's Cranny board, it's the buyers who are swinging around those price tags. No sane person would offer to buy such an easily obtainable item such as Nook Tickets at those prices.

Fair enough, I understand where you're coming from.

No, I'm not. I'm only a member on here and ACC. And I'm glad I'm never been a part of any AC Facebook groups because they sound toxic as heck.

That's the thing tho, maybe this is an issue on Facebook or Twitter or Reddit but it's not an issue here. I for one only use this site for AC social media. I haven't seen anything here so why do people keep trying to bring it here?

because the same people who use reddit/twitter/facebook also probably are here?? i mean not every person who's on this board uses bell tree exclusively for animal crossing stuff.

most of the times they're wonderful and are great for discussion but as with any social media site, they can turn sour quick. it's just part of being on the internet

But then, you gotta remember it's the internet. People can be as nasty as they want, because there are no repercussions. They are anonymously hiding behind a screen so they feel safe enough to be as mean as they want. You learn to just ignore it, those people don't know you, you don't know them so their opinion on what you do shouldn't even be on your radar of things to worry or think about. :)

Play your game how you want. Have fun, because there are always going to be haters out there, the best way to get one over on them, is to not even give them the attention they so clearly want.

But I've yet to see it here. I've only seen positivity for each other here outside of the threads discussing this issue. I've yet to see a thread along the lines of "TTers bad" only "Stop saying TTers bad" which causes the issue of bringing the negativity to us. We don't want to be negative here, we want to support each other, no matter the style of gameplay. This means respecting TTers and non-TTers, and respecting people who choose not to trade/play with TT/non-TT for whatever reason. Yet this is like the fourth thread I've commented on in a few hours on this topic because people want to spread the negativity here. If it comes from a different site, I think the majority of us would prefer it stays on that site.
