We have a tier list thread, an every collectible thread, and multiple threads/charts with pricing and past sales. What we don't have is a chart that takes the guess work out of things.

what we need is: a buying and selling thread! a.k.a. a basic tally of quantity demanded and supplied of a certain collectoble! I feel like this would inform people's decisions much better and would eliminate price guides potentially being taken advantage of. We'd never know how many of the collectibles are truly for sale or demanded though, but take the zen egg for example, it's gone from ~600 on the tier list to sold for ~2000 cuz there are nearly none being sold (no mine isn't gonna be for sale :p). tracking which collectibles people want and want to swap for tbt would make sales have an overall greater feeling of fairness (someone using a orice guide and selling at 600 would've been dissapointed.

I already have a few counter points and self rebuttals in mind, as well as expansions on the idea and the oracticality, but i'll leave the discussion open to you!

Pandapples ran a spreadsheet similar before she became staff: https://www.belltreeforums.com/showthread.php?417612-Collectible-Sales-Data&highlight=
You can see the amount of sales that occurred, but I think tallying the ?wants? would be very time consuming. Jacob has a buy thread but I think people prefer to make separate threads since the thread kinda died https://www.belltreeforums.com/show...ible-Looking-For-Date-Trade-Thread&highlight=

I?m sure it?s a lot of work to scour the TBT marketplace for all sales since not all people relay the sales/trades, but in my opinion spreadsheets containing all data are a lot more useful than the pricing guides which always tend to die out in a few months. Plus they?re usually skewed since only 1 price range time is displayed at a time. But of course, thats up to someone to pick it up and put time into it because its very much time consuming to maintain it.

tbh I really wish jacob's wishlist thread would be stickied. because it's a decent resource to find what people are hunting for, but way too easily buried

and it doesn't really fall into any sort of value indicators the staff don't like to seem as if endorsing, so....

i personally love mog and jacob's tier list and i really wish no other price guides would be/were made after it because while it may not have a spreadsheet it does have a vague, broad range for everything rather than having set prices. it's the only type of pricing guide that allows for wiggle room and won't inevitably cause members to demand higher end prices while buying for low-end like we saw happen with pandapples', sholee's, and everyone else's. it's also especially helpful to newer members and members who have less tbt this way. this type of thread was a huge step in the right direction of avoiding price guides being taken advantage of imo.
