if you reset after they say they changed their minds, you can run in front of them andconvince them again
handy little trick i discovered with one of my villagers

It does work if you do it correctly. You go one day, talk to all the ones you want to keep, go to the next day, same thing, go back to the day you were on and see who pings. It should be the person you want to move.
