Maybe you can try recruiting Rosie anyway? I read this post, and maaaaybe you have a chance if a villager in boxes really does count as an empty space.

Dang I wish I had all the movie villagers... :/ I've had Cyrano, Margie, and Alfonso. And Rosie is camping!
