Good day (well perhaps for you it is),
I opened my gate the other day to let 'friends' in however "Emi" from "SkyVille" took some rare DLC throwing beans which I was buying from a friend and someone else came after that, which of course saved. Then, she resets. Losing my beans and 300k! After many confrontations she claims she 'buried' the beans however they are no where to be found. She clearly stole them. Just letting you know not to have dlc around her!

When doing trades always always make that person a best friend and then open the gate to best friends that can help a bit from people stealing in trades also don't conduct trades right next to the station I always do it on the beAch that way if needed to be you can end the multiplayer if u don't want someone in town

Complaining about it on the forum seems a bit low, though.

This. ^

I mean was it really even that hard to go talk to porter after your trader came in and tell him to close your gates which would prevent anybody from coming in? Having your gates open is an invitation to anyone who is able to come over to come over.

This kind of occurrence should make me paranoid, however, it just makes me feel closer to everyone here at TBT.

There is no need to be paranoid, if you prepare your town for visitors and take precautions when doing trades and such u will be ok, and if you have a bad visitors just flick the wifi switch and it never happened

I dislike arguments like this. Take precautions? Yes, of course, always. But it still sucks that a member of the community is willing to steal from someone else. I run into the same problems on other online games where I run across people who act less civil then they should, and all I hear back is "Don't play with randoms" and other responses along those lines.

matt: I can help you get you the beans (mame) as well as your 300k. Just PM me.

Yea responses like that are pointless. But I think publicly naming someone like this is just as bad, if you have proof, contact a mod, they are there to help with stuff like this (sure it is in the rules etc) and they could remove them from the site if they are really bad.

Eh I've seen matt's posts. He sells a lot of stuff and always delivers. Seems like a quality dude. I trust him. I don't mind helping out people like that. Paying it forward helps out the community.

I was agreeing that the responses like shut you gates, hide your stuff are pointless, not you helping was pointless (would help if it quoted your quote)

Do you understand what shutting your gates does?

If you are only opening your town for a single trade, it comes in handy. The trader comes in, you go talk to Porter telling him to close your gates. This will prevent new visitors from coming in, but everyone in your town stays and still has the ability to leave. This is also like a ten second process too. Then, you can trade with any interruptions, thieves or not, cause the simple new visitor cutscene is annoying enough in a trade.

Also, the mods cannot ban someone for this. What happens on wifi is beyond their control. If they could simply ban a person based off of stories and/or pictures of stuff like this happening, people could easily frame each other to get each other banned.(not saying anyone here would do it, but it is always a possibility)

As a community forum, we are supposed to act as friends. Friends have problems between each other, and it isn't fair for something that could have been a mistake to follow a user around for their time here, especially considering the average forum-life of a tbt user. If however, you feel as if you have been wronged by someone and you have the means to prove it, it is suggested that you take the issue to a mod PRIVATELY, and hopefully a one on one talk can resolve the issue quietly.

Though there is no guarantee that anything can be done to return bells or lost items, depending on the situation, a user may be issued a warning or infraction. Do not explicitly request or demand action from a moderator, it is at our own judgement what should be done to handle the situation.

You may privately tell your friends that someone has wronged you and to not buy or sell to them, but publicly outing someone for doing something that can hardly be proven is going to cause some issues.

Threads are public not private.

I am not going to continue with this. I reported the thread so a mod can take care of it if indeed action needs to be taken. The OP'er can then take this up privately with a mod if they feel the need to do so.

Yes, you can close your gates. But random people shouldn't come in without invitation in the first place! It's stupid that you need to take all these precautions to prevent thieves when they shouldn't even come in in the first place.

But that still does not deny the fact that it does and can happen, so why not be prepared so you can enjoy online play

As it's been said, we don't want you publicly calling someone out for doing something that is hard to be proven.
