There may be a new way to get Blue roses

I'm watching a streamer (Tooshi), and he had found a hybrid flower island full of roses (his native flower). The island had a bunch of orange and pink roses, which he had planted on his island grouped together.

The thing is, a blue rose had budded near them. This means it is VERY likely the following combination may yield a blue rose:

- Orange + Orange
- Pink + Pink
- Orange + Pink
- Yellow + Orange
- Yellow + Pink

I think some testing needs to be done on this. I'd do it myself but I unfortunately have yet to come across roses.

I had been trying to get blue roses the old way.

I think so. Purple rose buds are much darker.

Fauna definitely thinks blue roses will spawn; try yellow roses with both pink and orange too just in case as the image shows it COULD have a yellow parent.

Now we wait to see if one spawns, then find out what the heck is going on and which pair it is...

I'm definitely going to try to do this. Unfortunately, I don't have any hybrid roses just yet but I've planted sets of roses to get pinks and oranges. Have to see how it goes when I get home in the morning!

I still have yet to obtain any color of rose! Once I do I will try my best to grow blue roses!

Jeez I would know. My New Leaf town was flush with blue roses. They were a pain to make that’s for sure. I hope this works. I don’t TT, but right now I have a swath of roses in the cooker.

Don't feel forced to TT, take it at your own pace. The more that help out, TT or not, the sooner we can debunk this.

Is it possible the streamer just replanted the buds before the stream? Also can’t vouch for there accuracy but polygon is reporting it’s orange and orange (could be multiple different ways to be fair) either way seems unlikely there’s special hybrid red roses like in new leaf

I recall there being a thread mentioning the method of getting blue roses was the same as New Leaf. As far as I know, the streamer found the emperor butterfly (hybrid flower) island, and brought a ton back and planted them all on his cliffs. I was watching and he was showing that a blue one grew in to his SO. So I don't think he dug the bud up and planted it.

But, as I said, this is why we're testing it out.
