This is just for people who are finally getting their island covered in snow that don't time travel so here's some things to know:

1. Snowflakes will be spawning: You can catch them using your net when you see them hovering in the air. Just like the Maple Leaves from last month.

2. Snowboys: If you have an area on your island thats grass you can see snowballs appearing. To make a perfect Snowboy the snowballs must be Large and the other one medium size to make it. Once you make the perfect snowboy they will give you a Large Snowflake and you will be given a Frozen DIY after you make them. You can only have 4 Snowboys on the island and they will melt away day by day so keep building them daily if you want to keep getting Large Snowflakes.

Honestly it's so hard to tell how to make the perfect snowboy, I have problems with seeing proportions right so I'm scared I'll mess it up :(

Do snowballs spawn in flowers? I don’t have much grass that isn’t covered in flowers, so I’m wondering if I’ll have to clear out some more space

This is my personal experience with snowballs.

My town is well decorated, but I have some small areas that I thought would be big enough to build a snowman. I didn't get any snowballs for three days. I had a small area in my campsite that was empty, so I picked up a few things and made sure there were no patterns to make it a bit bigger. I went in my house, and when I returned, there were finally two snowballs.

I'm happy that I get snowballs now, but disappointed that I had to tear down a part of my campground to get them.

i have like no open space to make snowboys :0
so sad

No they do not they only spawn in Grass areas so make sure you have a spot on your island for the snowballs to spawn and it must be big enough to roll the snowballs over the snow for it to get bigger. If it gets off of the snow and onto a custom path or whatever it will cause it to shrink.

The best way to do it is to make a large snowball first and then make the other snowball but here's a trick you can do. Put it next to the large snowball but don't let it touch it. You want to make sure its not too big and not too small it must be medium size so you can scroll the camera up to see the size difference and if you want to make the snowball smaller roll it onto areas where there is no snow and it will cause it to shrink. Make sure not to let it hit any trees or fences otherwise it will disappear. To make it respawn go inside any building and come out and it will respawn.

That doesn't track with what I've been told from people in the SH and other TTers who have said that snowballs will spawn in flower fields 🤔

This should help! Honestly, the first day I STRUGGLED. Seriously, if one more Snowboy had said "Oh, so close!" I was gonna lose it. But, as long as it doesn't autosave, you can reset to give yourself another chance to build one.

Eventually, I got the hang of it, and now I'm making them easily without having to reset at all. Just remember the head should be about, I think, one size snowball smaller then the bottom. Make the bottom as big as possible, until the point where you character moves a little smaller while rolling it, and then roll the top one until it's just a bit (but still noticeably) smaller.

Also, keep in mind- if you make a snowball TOO big, you can roll it on stone or another non-stone path to make it smaller again!

Ty so much!

quick question about snowy days: does the snow water flowers? cause most places I've seen said yes, but I TTed ahead today to see what the snow looked like and i don't think my flowers were sparkling 🤔 I might not have waited long enough, but I watered them right after and they were sparkling right away

yes it does. My flowers have been spreading every day after it snows. snow has to be falling from the sky to water them though.

I could have sworn there was snow falling, but it might have been light snow and not enough to water the flowers? or I might have just missed the sparkles haha. thanks for letting me know though!

I had to clear some trees and flowers to make those snowballs show up! It's quite frustrating that I have to destroy one section in my island for them.

Surprisingly, snowflakes are quite abundant. It's not as tedious as shaking trees.
