Thoughts about not letting villagers change their furniture and stuff

I've always let them do whatever they wanted. Lately I've been putting expensive furniture in retail (mush at the moment) so they can buy it up and decorate their house with it.

I love to give my villagers the worst catchphrases and greetings (for example, Klaus' greeting is "o-oh senpai," and his catchphrase is "*blushes*" and Peck's greeting is "oh god." and his catchphrase is "#turnt")

This is the funniest thing I have seen all day! I need a greetings and catchphrase thread now!
I don't like for them to have fish or bugs in their house unless it's a goldfish or butterfly. I have been experimenting with redecorating their houses though and keeping them how I decorate them. It's tough to keep them the same though, but I don't think it ruins the game!

I only try to keep the houses the same if I plan on trading them or giving them away. otherwise I don't care about it..well, maybe give them cute stuff atleast :0

Personally, I try to change their original rooms if I know I'm keeping the villagers. I'm trying to get Keaton to adopt a "kawaii" room with rainbow screens and modded regal furniture, and it's fun (or sometimes slightly aggravating) walking into his home to see what he's placed where.
