Thoughts on a wider variety of hairstyles?

I've noticed that there are quite a few of the hairstyle options that I never see people using, and only see a few others quite often. I feel like it'd be a huge benefit to implement newer styles since we've only ever had the original styles from older games. I know it seems pretty miniscule, I mean it's not really an issue, but I'm just curious as to what others think about the subject.

First of all, New Leaf did implement new hairstyles. A lot in fact. The one I use was not in any previous games. I definitely still support having new hairstyles though, since I always like it when there's more options for customization.

I'd love to see some new hairstyles for both characters.
Some of the hats and bows in Pocket Camp have really nice styles underneath, so I'd really be interested in new hair!

Just give me more curly hairstyles for both the male and female character and I'm happy.

But yeah, in general, some new hairstyles would be really nice.

I'm with this. I currently have long hair so when I try to match my character up with me, it's a little hard. There is one hairstyle in New Leaf I like, but it's way too short. Perhaps we could maybe see an option to choose the hair length we want with every hairstyle, including the new ones? I would love to see that.

yes please. But mostly I just want the ability to choose hairstyles directly like in hhd and pocket camp-no having to answer random questions

Oh yeah! I would love to see hair texture too. Another neat thing to see would be the hair moving as the character moves too depending on how long the hairstyle was. Though, it might be a little too much to add all these things. XD

yes PLEASE. there needs to be curly hair and kinky hair. an afro should not be a wig. there should be different kinds of locs too.

I am all for more longer hairs or just any style with bangs.
It will be interesting to see what they add; some of the Pocket Camp hairs are just a ad too much on the shaded side for me. I am hoping they keep it consistent and simple.

What you said about some hairstyles never being used is due to the cryptic way of getting them I think. If there's a specific one you really want you almost Always have to look up some kind of guide to get it. So if more hairstyles get added I hope they'll just let you select the hairstyle you want without the verbal process with Harriet. Maybe make it some kind of unlockable so that people can still have fun with that method.

And while I find this unlikely to be implemented, I would really love if they had a hair system similar to the more recent pokemon game, where you can mix and match your bangs and hair! I feel like it would help diversify things so not everyone went with just one of the teeny handful of popular hairstyles. Again, I really doubt it'll actually happen, but a gal can dream.

I'm really hoping that they up the customization game for the switch. I really liked that in HHD you can pick a skin color for starters. I think that's really important and something I hope they implement into the switch.
As for hair, I would love to see more variety in length and texture. I think they could still do a lot without straying from the style of the game, but I don't know. I'm just hoping that since it took so long for a new generation of Animal Crossing that there will be a lot of big features.
(And then lastly the faces pleaseeee no more random questions just let me pick )

I never really liked the animal crossing hair choices. I like long hair options, and I would totally be down for more choices. I also agree that you should be able to pick the hair style like in HHD
