thoughts on the new horizons trading economy?

LMAO literally. I have stopped because it's just such a pain to go through. First you have to set it up and it takes hours after that. And then you get bitten. It startles me every single time and it's probably happened to me like 1000 times by now lol.

Funnily enough I was trying to get so many bells via this method and others to be able to compete in the market, but then I ended up getting the unnamed villager in question for free lmao. Which is a blessing. I wouldn't have ever probably been able to compete in this market no matter how many tarantula islands I suffered through lmao. At least I can pay off all those inclines now.

It's kind of annoying that NMT are currency now. I saw a thread, without naming names, just today where someone bid on a villager (the same one I was previously searching for) with 3 figures of NMT. 100+ NMT! Geez. I mean I guess that works. Who would've thought, though.

i can relate to this entire post on a personal level ugh.

How are people trading miles tickets in the hundreds?? I've been saving them (to hunt for Raymond) and I've got like 20 right now which is hardly anything in the current economy

I have no idea!!! I mean I guess they're just doing the NM+ tasks? But wow. That's a slow, slow grind. That's literally 200,000 miles per 100. And with all of those tickets you might be able to organically find the villager on an island or something. That way is much, much more enjoyable than getting in a tense bidding war! It's like a cute little surprise!

This! I’m playing a lot and paying attention to earning miles, but I’d never even get anywhere close to getting close to those numbers. I wonder if you can keep creating new characters to earn all those early and easy-to-get miles. Even that would be lots of time/effort though.

If you’re spending hours and hours tediously earning Bells/Miles, you are probably better off buying a card if you can afford it (which you should be able to, if you can afford the game and system)

they've jacked up the prices on cards now on most platforms, marshal goes for close to $100 and some of the popular wolves get up there too. but i would still rather do that (if i wanted them that bad) instead of grinding mindlessly... i get we're all quarantined but... wow lol

new to this game, but things like item duplication glitch and forcing tarantula island really messed up with the economy.

and with turnip price sharing, the players who did this have infinite money
