according to this gamexplain video. explanation here!

Wouldn't see why it wouldn't return, considering the method of changing the time and date is outside of the software and it just detects your system's clock like any other in the series.

I didn't watch any of the videos yet, but I assume the penalties would probably be the same, weeds, messy hair, villagers gone, roach infestation, that kind of stuff. I usually time skip a day or so at a time than several large skips so I think that should be fine

Thank you for this! I was pretty sure they wouldn't remove it from the game, but I'm still happy to see the confirmation :D

true. it's just nice to see real proof from the game itself so people can stop freaking out about it.

Not a feature I'll be using, but I am glad for the people who were worried they'd have to miss out on events due to their schedules :3

I'm curious what the penalties mentioned in one of the reviews will be though. Like shendere said, I'm guessing similar effects to NL.

please tell me why i didn’t consider those to be the penalties and why i thought it’d be something else lmao.

i’m glad time travel is possible though, especially since the gameplay is apparently very slow-paced lol

I'm fine with NL style penalties. In NL, those didn't impact you as long as you didn't TT backwards to before the time that you last played/saved the game. Some people think TTing backwards always makes your turnips go bad and that's not true, as long as you keep that rule in mind. I had to TT back (from real world time) sometimes because I'd miss a day thanks to being busy. It never caused any problems. I'd buy turnips most weeks, as long as Joan wasn't charging too much, and never had turnips go bad.

I hope NH works that way.

Yay! I don't want to time travel much, but the first time I play will be at midnight so I wanted to travel backwards to play it in the afternoon and I also wanted to travel back 5 days so I could play through the first five days the on the 20th! I heard the very beginning is really slow so I wanted to give myself a little more to do but then stop time traveling after that. My hype is too real to play only a short time on the 20th.... I'm gonna be playing all day!

Time travel is essential for me as I work hours that aren't conducive to diurnal play. In NL it was miserable logging in to a dark barren town with no shops open :/ plus sometimes I will play intensely for a few days, then take a few days break, and this ensures my town doesn't suffer just because I have real life responsibilities. So stoked to hear it's still possible.
