I have decided upon the perfect spot to put my cafe. Unfortunately, that spot is already occupied by a villager. I need to get her to move out. Any tips?

I've heard that one of the best ways is to ignore that villager completely. Don't visit with them, don't respond when they run up to you, and they'll eventually get the hint.

You can also hit them with a net a lot, worked on older ones, they get mad after awhile.

It?s random who moves out, so sadly none of that works, it?s basically all luck.

I don't believe that, because I've had a villager who moved in since I started(Julian) and he hasn't left because I talk to him a lot and do what he asks. Same with Merry. I never talked to Flo or Monty and they both left.

Ignoring them works for me. I've just waited until another villager tells me they've heard the other is moving out. Then I go talk to the villager I was originally ignoring and encourage them to leave. :)

I don't even do that. If a neighbor tells me they may have heard that *insert unwanted neighbor who wants to move* wants to move, I just ignore them like the plague.
Some villager will happily tell you they're moving and then turn right around and stay once you agree to let them move so you can "become better friends" ._.

Pushing them around helps them move as well as pushing them into pitfalls. Otherwise just ignore them and do not talk to them and eventually they should move. It always annoys me when I tell them they can move and they then decide to stay >.<

That's simply luck. I talk to Cherry all the time, and she tried moving.

It's plain and simple. There is no way to force a villager to move.

You can't force a villager to do anything, but you can push them in the direction you want either by treating them well or badly.

I echo this. I haven't talked to Cobb and Chow for weeks yet Maelle, the duck villager who I talked to and did favors for all the time, was the one that asked to move. I gave up abusing/hitting Cobb and Chow since it did nothing.

But I am sure it made you feel better! :)

No, it made her more frustrated because it wasn't ever working.

But yeah, my first villager to try to move out was Truffles and I have always been kind to her and never turned down any of her favors. I'd send her letters with gifts and everything.

Moving is random. Why doesn't everyone get that?

Well it's a combination of "it worked this way in the past games!" and "I refuse to believe they'd just leave it to random chance even though a lot of other aspects of this game are random as well.... but this is different!!!"

I talk to all of my villagers a lot. I've so far had 3 suggest moving out. I told all 3 no and they stayed, but... Just because you talk to them a lot and do favors for them and send them letters all the time doesn't mean they won't move or try to move.

I talk to punchy a lot and he tried to move out today. No way in hell was I letting that happen. I have been slacking on the letters and stuff though :< but Sparro moved out and I never paid him much attention.
Mint moved out and I moderately spoke to her
Rocco moved out and I hated him
