today is St. Patrick's Day- do people do anything to celebrate where you live?

Nothing happens around here. Then again, I don't drink, so I don't know if the restaurant bars do anything. (We don't have regular bars.) I'll be a rebel and wear pink tomorrow! :p

half of the pub/bar/tav's in the city pull a big game changer by offering guinness on tap.

which surprises no one because most places already have guinness on tap.

St Patrick's Day in the US is just like New Year's Eve, Cinco De Mayo, Independence Day, and Labor Day - an excuse to get drunk.

Personally, I don't drink, so I do absolutely nothing. I do have Irish ancestors, however, this was originally a very Christian feast day. I'm not religious at all so... yeah.
It was a drinking holiday long ago, too. It's a saints day, which means a feast is required, but falls during lent. The Church lifts the Lent ban for a day to allow for a feast, and the first thing people reached for was their beer and wine.

I'm in Northern England which is quite close to Ireland and surprisingly we don't do much? There's no parade or anything.
I think the local 'traditional Irish' (haha no) pub has a special offer on beer or something. I wouldn't know though!

Living in Ireland we naturally do, but it's a lil weird to me to see how people think the holiday is mostly about going out getting drunk and honestly not even really about the patron saint any more lol.. it kind of grew to have a whole new meaning I guess? Anyway, have a great St Paddys day to everyone that's celebrating! <3

I just had to walk through my city filled with drunken people at 4:30pm so basically that!!

No one here in my city seems to give a crap about it. xp

All I did for it was wear a green shirt that turned out to be one my dad had gotten for himself back in 1996.

I don't think anyone here really does anything to celebrate. I wish they did, though, it seems so fun!
