Too many TT threads

Every day there's several threads that pop up, from people asking if they should time travel, to people complaining about time travel, to people asking why people care so much about time travelling. It's kind of irritating. Here's a snapshot of how these threads always turn out:

- Someone says it isn't cheating.
- Someone says it doesn't matter either way, just play how you want.
- Someone says it is cheating.
- Someone says it is cheating but that's fine.
- Someone says it is cheating and that's not fine because it gives an advantage over other people.
- Someone says even Nintendo don't consider it cheating.
- Someone says it's cheating because you need to go out of the game to do it.
- Argument ensues and everyone ends up bitter.

It's just silly and it's always the same. Please can we discourage people posting threads about this, or at the very least move the discussion into a central thread on the board. This topic shouldn't be any more complicated than "who cares" but it always ends up a dumpster fire.

Ugh yes! I agree with this. It's getting annoying to have to wade through all of the meta-commentary about the state of the community & how others play the game when I'm trying to find topics about the game itself. If it created an interesting discussion, that'd be one thing, but 90% of the time it doesn't. It's just the same repetitive, toxic arguments every single thread and there's practically a new thread about it every single day.

This and: "Am I the only one who likes/dislikes [villager]?" gets so stale.

Don't really feel like they can discourage people from making these posts though.

Yeah I don’t think there’s a need for the staff to babysit us. Just don’t go to those threads if it bothers you, there’s hundreds of others at any given time that you can interact with instead.

so long as people aren't actually fighting every time i don't really think it's an issue. topics being annoying/repetitive isn't much a reason to do away with them. if you see several threads that are exactly the same and should be merged you can report one stating so.

Maybe there just needs to be a Time Travel Discussion Thread stickied in the ACNH subforum. I think that there is a thread for this but lord knows it's probably buried underneath thousands of posts.

If you dislike those threads then I advise you not to click on them. It's a popular topic and people want to talk about it. There is nothing wrong with that. The only time we will step in is if people are breaking the Rules and Guidelines.

I mean, it's basically just spam at this point and it just leads to arguing and people being bitter to one another. Why do we want to encourage that? Fair enough if people want to talk about it, but move it into a specific thread for discussion or something - why do we need a bunch of the same thread discussing the same issue every single day? We have threads dedicated to specific topics in other boards, why should this be an exception? "mind your own business," Christ. What a solution.

I'm asking this as someone who hasn't TT'd at all yet and all I have left to do it landscaping and events basically. Is TTing still seen as bad even if I have nothing left to do but landscape? I want to move things faster and breed hybrids faster etc. If you guys think I should TT and its okay...

I'm wondering the same thing. I cruise on this site daily, and even if they're there it's not much at all. And even if it were, just leave it be. It doesn't affect us if we look past it.

This has not reached a level we would consider spam. There is no reason for us to force people to use a single thread to discuss it as things currently stand.

I agree. I notice them everyday and the response to those threads are always the same. I don't think it should be a constant topic like it is. People can play their games how they want to and that's that. If people are willing to deal with the consequences of TT then they can do so, and if people aren't willing then that's fine too. I also see a lot of bashing when it comes to people who do TT. It's a little sad.
