cats_toy's Creature:
I recently created a new town, went to the island to stock up on some medals from the mini games. Everything was okay until it wasn't.

I was playing the beginner games because that's what was available. After a few trips to the island, the difficulty levels started changing. I was happy about this because that meant more medals. However, after I finished a game be it 1 star or two, the medals decreased. This is the message I get from Tortimer—

"You got enough points to win a Silver Tortimer Award and 4 medals.

What the heck is a Tortimer Award and why have the medals decreased. I have 4 different towns and not once have I seen this message.

The "Tortimer Award" is always going to be bronze, silver, or gold whenever you complete a tour. That is the scoring to decide how many medals you get, based entirely on how well you played the mini-game. The different difficulty levels make it harder to get "gold" or more medals.

Also luckily, the difficulty never changes, it only gets unlocked so make sure you choose beginner if that is what you would like to play! There are three difficulties, beginner, intermediate and elite iirc.

Thanks for the reply. I just didn’t recall receiving these “awards.” All I knew was the medals I was receiving was extremely minimal.

like keroppi said, it will always be a variation of “tortimer award (bronze, silver, gold)” with an increase in medals according to accuracy/ time. Highly recommend the toy hammer tour, market price, scavenger hunt and hide and seek for some easy medals!

Thanks for the tips, most appreciated!

Once you get good at it, the scavenger hunt is the most efficient for grinding as it has one of the highest payouts of 16 medals, (highest being 20 for tours like tuna-kahuna & giant dragonfly) and its completion time is based on how fast you collect the required items!
