In every game there has been a way to leave your town. In Gamecube and New Leaf it was the train station. But for Wild World and City Folk, they replaced it with the town gate. That got me wondering: which of these buildings do you personally prefer?

I personally like the train station a lot more. I always enjoyed taking the train in Gamecube, and it just feels more interesting to have a train running through your town. Plus it means Booker and Copper can be proper policemen instead of just gatekeepers.

I think the train station! It just makes sense to take the train to somewhere far away rather than having to run all the way there! I just see it as a greater sense of immersion that way. And it makes a neat landmark! I don't mind the gate either though, and I won't mind what the next installment goes with. Maybe even something new! I see a lot of people tossing around the idea of an air-based transportation system, which I think would be neat. Even maybe depending on distance you get to take the train, go on foot or use the air?

Train station. It seems more modern but in AC Switch I would like to see another transport area. Maybe like a plane or a boat. Maybe whe nyou go to the dock you can visit Tortimer Island or choose to invite people in or visit.

I prefer the train station, although I wish that (if they going to use it again) the train station in the next game gets an update, like getting bigger and with more details. I wouldn't mind if they would go ahead and replace it with something entirely new, like a subway for example. I love the idea of having an underground part of the town.

The town gate was kinda boring, even if I like it back then in Wild World to go there and talk with Booker.

BLah the town gate is weird looking its only good to have a town gate to look like a castle gate if you have a royal theme town.
But its makes no sense why would the old ac games have such a fancy gate for a normal town. I rather to have a train station instead of the weird royal fancy town gate.

The train station definitely makes me feel more like I am traveling to meet someone/go to their town.

i love the train! i'm kind of in love with train rides in general, so that certainly helps

Train station. The town gate always made Animal Crossing seem like it was set in backwards times to me.

Train Station! I always found it strange that we are expected to just run all the way to a supposedly far away town looool! I think the Train Station has a lot more charm, and fits better than a massive town gate imo :p

I was never really a big fan of the town gate, the train station sure is much better and also fit to
the town more imo.

The train station. I never played the games that had a town gate, so I had to look it up. It just doesn't look right for most towns. I mean if you're going for a medieval themed town, then it's perfect, but it doesn't fit a natural setting at all.

I also love that we can customize the train station now in New Leaf so that it works for several different themes. If you could customize the town gate, then it might not be so bad, but I still think the train station has more charm.

Honestly I really liked the town gate it made it seem like your town was a super special guarded area that only certain people could see. Or maybe I just like it because I played a lot of Wild World lol. The train station is a lot more practical seeming though and the train going through your town is really cute and more modern

I much prefer the station. :)

I just like the atmosphere it has within the town, plus it's a little more realistic than running to another town.

I prefer the train station. The town gate and the aesthetic of it just felt a bit over the top for me.
