So currently, I have a Japanese physical copy of ACNL and 1 New 3DS LL. I want to keep my Japanese town, but also want to get an English copy of NL and bring some of my Japan exclusive items over to the new English version when I get it. Do I need 2 3DS systems in order to do this? Or, can I connect over the internet, have my character from the Japanese version carry items over to my new English town and drop them off? If that is the case, I may need 2 systems. But, if anyone knows of a better method, please let me know. I would like to do this with the physical copies if possible. Thank you in advance for the help!

The only way that I am aware of is to have two systems because you would need one of your characters to visit the other town to pick up or drop off the items. There might be another way to do it, but that's how I share items between my two towns.
How can I do this without having 2 3DS consoles?You could also find a trustworthy person to hold your items for you!
Put your one cartridge in, connect to the internet and have the person you trust pick up the items. Then switch cartridges, connect again and have them drop it off

Thanks for explaining the process and offering to hold my stuff! I can probably do the transfer on Tuesday since I am still waiting for my English copy to arrive.
