)) one thing though is to avoid shading clothing folds (sometimes hair too but the hair here looks fine) with a soft brush; you're better off with a hard brush that fades with less pen pressure (hopefully this makes sense >.<)

aww thanks! Erm, i've just started drawing, digital especially, so i haven't thought about comms. though, i've had some inquiries so i'm considering doing a couple by request maybe? but, these take me a loooonggg time T____T

Lovely new piece!
For the clothing, what I would recommend (apart from using a hardbrush instead of the airbrush like ssvv suggested for definition, which is an A+ suggestion imo) is looking up a bunch of different styles of cloth and looking closely at how they all fold and how the light captures them. You could even use your own clothes as reference for this. I really think it's all a matter of observing the world and remembering how each fabric and texture would work in real life when trying to shade your drawings. It also helps thinking of how a body bends underneath those folds!
I'm probably not being helpful at all orz I'm sorry. There are also a bunch of tutorials on how to shade clothes on dA? When in doubt, always look up reference pictures.

i figure i just need to spend some time watching people color and looking at clothes... i've just been avoiding it cause... im lazy... heh. also, the coloring styles i typically gravitate to are more complicated than anything i can ever manage right now. need to find a good starting point @__@
