So, my mom got a new computer, and I just hooked up my tablet to the computer. I open photoshop CC, the same version of photoshop on our old laptop. For some reason, my tablet is having serious lag issues on my brushstrokes. It will catch up eventually to my hand, but whenever I start drawing, it will often omit part of the line and only start to mark once it catches up with my brush. As you can imagine, it is difficult to draw like this! How do I fix this?!
Have you tried updating your tablet's drivers? What's your tablet's brand? Sometimes my Bamboo gets laggy after I leave my PC running for too long, and resetting my Wacom preferences fixes all problems once Photoshop's been restarted.
Er, am I to assume you have all your drivers updated to their latest versions, then? Do you have any other art programs to see whether it's an issue only with Photoshop or it's the tablet itself? I'm not experienced with VisTablets but if updating your drivers isn't working, and seeing as you're trying it on a new laptop, it could maybe be a RAM issue, though honestly I think it's unlikely. It doesn't hurt to check if your new laptop can handle the program since Photoshop's a kind of heavy program, at any rate. Other common solutions to tablet bugs would be resetting your tablet's preferences, which I mentioned before with Wacom, replacing your pen's tip, or placing your tablet in a different position. Sometimes just restarting your computer magically makes it work.
If none of these is working, you could always try contacting customer support. I hear VisTablet's actually good and helpful.
