'Ugly' Villager Appreciation Thread

pretty self-explanatory. is there a villager that everyone thinks is ugly that you really like? maybe one that you initially disliked that grew on you?

mine is jambette. she gets a ton of hate because of her lips but honestly i loved her since i first saw her for some reason. she's really sweet, just a lil southern belle who likes to drink iced tea and calls me "honey".

i love katt, everyone i know thinks she's ugly but i don't get why, i think she's absolutely adorable ♡
same for villagers like bella, rod, axel, hopper, lucky, cherve and nan
both my friends and siblings hate them for their looks, but i love them all ♡

My favorite 'ugly' villager would be Anicotti. I liked her since the moment I met her back on the GameCube and quite frankly, I don't see anything ugly about her. I think she's adorable. But the mouse villagers as a whole seem to be considered ugly by most people.

I also love a lot of the species that are considered ugly by most: apes, hippos, rhinos, mice, monkeys, anteaters, frogs. There will always be a place for 'ugly' villagers in my towns. ❤

I have both Tabby and Hazel in my town right now and I love both of them. As for some other villagers that don’t get much love I really like most of the pigs (Boris in particular) and all the alligators (true that some of them show up frequently but nobody really talks about Del or Alli for example and I think they’re rad).

i’m shuffling in to show some love for my girls hazel and katt - a lot of people think they’re ugly but i think they’re adorable! and plus, hazel’s catchphrase is literally “uni-wow”,,, it doesn’t get any better than that lmao

Beardo was my forced first camper and he's actually kind of growing on me... until he said that the real brains behind the island is Isabelle :/ but he's still pretty cool! (He'd be cooler if he apologized for that insult)

I love Canberra so much! I hated her when she first moved in a few months ago, but she’s actually so sweet and I’ve grown to love her design

He is just the sweetest, I find smug villagers really cute 'cause to me it's kinda like they're trying to hard and I can see right through their antics lol

When I saw Bertha for the first time, I didn't even like her at all, I thought she was ugly in my opinion. Things changed though when I saw her on my first NMT island and I accidentally invited her when I didn't want to as my first 3 villagers. I was upset when I did that, but I learned to like her and she grew on me after a while. She was also sweet to me and always wrote letters as well, even after upgrading my house. I was sad though when she did move out of my NH town, I liked her now even though she was a hippo villager.

Knox! He’s literally a giant chicken in medieval armour but for some reason I adore him

Truffles is a villager that gets a lot of hate because she is "ugly" with her thick mean looking brows. And I think she is the most disliked peppy villager. She was one of the first villagers I invited on the NM islands (I just invited the first 3 I encountered) . At first I did regret it a bit but now she is one of my favorite villagers. I won't trade her for any popular villager. She will stay on my island forever lol.

To be honest I like a lot of the so called "ugly" and unpopular villagers.

pate and nate. pate was one of my villagers in new leaf and shes just the sweeeetest thing i love her so much i might get her in nh aha. and nate just moved into my town on nh and i was so not excited but hes growing on me sm. hes so cute even with his gnarly green eyebrows lol. he reminds me of winnie the pooh too
