eh in all honesty, for me commissions aren't really only for the money, its not a full time job or anything for me so i really don't mind a few pounds for it ^^ but thank you anyway! i'll keep practising ^^
Yup, but still, people could take advantage of that and in the long run it will become very frustrating working for so little. Been there, done that, it's no fun.
Also, cosider the fact that if you undersell yourself, it affects the whole community. Seeing prices so low further pushes the mentality that art and the artists' time and sweat are almost worthless, and sadly, there is way too many people who think like that. Plus, young artists severely underpricing themselves make it harder for others to sell at normal prices. I've literally seen people coming and complaining to semi-professional/professional artists that their "prices are too high because I saw people selling art for 10 USD!"
So please, please, don't do this, you would hurt both yourself and the general artist economy. It's better to ask for more so you are properly rewarded for your investment. Because it's not just the time you use to make a commission, but also all the time you spent refining your craft.
Best of luck, though! Definitely try other angles, avoiding them won't make you learn them, so grab that bull by the horns
I hope you can improve fast, I am sure you can, so have fun with it!
