I found this website detailing different unique features to each town... I don't know which version of the game it is... Also, ether you can walk in the rivers in City Folk or this person is a hacker...

i have two cliffs in a second town i made on a spare memory card for gamecube...its extremely difficult to get around, might be easier if there was a birdge on the middle level....

He's obviously a hacker, but yea, all do have unique features. I have this peninsula of land that juts out to the second level, kind of like an orchard of cherry trees.
