So earlier today I got Ace! Turns out they DID have other amiibo cards, which made me wonder why they were like.. "getting them to leave is going to be the hard part" when they have other amiibos... So a bit weird they said that... And honestly that was the only reason why I had red flags in the first place lol. I'm just happy everything worked out. And I definitely learned that I never want to trade villager for villager again, unless I personally know the person or something because it's just too stressful if you're a super anxious person like me lol.

Give it time, and don't be afraid to contact them calmly and simply ask for an update. Good luck on villager hunting in the meantime!

It’s not good to jump to conclusions, although I can see why you’re worried. I’ve gotten single Amiibo cards by purchasing individually on eBay or Etsy. It’s possible that they have done so as well.

I think I'll give them a day or two, and if they're unresponsive about the situation I'll probably have no choice but to assume the worst.. And thank you, I actually found another returning villager, so even if this doesn't pan out hopefully I'll be able to get Ace still

I know I shouldn't, but I can't help but be a bit paranoid now. I find it a bit unlikely she ordered a single one since the series 5 cards just released on Nov 5th... But maybe someone she knew irl had an extra Ace amiibo and gave it to her or something? I dont know I'm just trying to rationalize the situation anyway I can atm. Hopefully everything will turn out okay

Hard to say, just give it time. You might just be feeling a bit overly eager due to the attachment to Ace. I know I've gotten a bit worried over Skye on a few occasions.

Honestly, I hadn't even considered that! I think that actually explains the reason as to why this is so hard for me. I probably need to take it down a few notches lol. All I know is, one thing's for sure, I definitely don't want to make a villager for villager trade again! It's just too stressful lol. It's a lot easier to just sell a villager to someone for NMT, and buy a villager from someone else using NMTs, and probably safer too, then doing a direct trade like this.

awh well i'm sure it'll work out, maybe they got caught up unexpectedly with something.
i just received my pack of amiibo cards and ace was one of them. if you do end up ghosted, i'd be happy to send ace over to you (though it would take longer than an online trade ofc).

It's only been two hours since you last spoke. Depending on their time zone, they might not be online at all -- they could sleeping, at school or work, or something else. You also never know when an emergency might come up. I wouldn't worry too much yet, just be patient.

Being scammed sucks but remember that even if you were scammed, you're not losing anything huge, just time and a villager you didn't want. It could be so much worse! There'll be other chances to get Ace, including people sometimes giving villagers away for free :)

Oh my gosh! That is so kind of you! Thank you so much for offering to do that. You've seriously just made my day! and I'll definitely let you know if they end up ghosting or something

It's people like you that makes this community so awesome.

Trading villagers is always a scary thing to do. Especially now with new villagers that are in such high demand. I'm sure it will be fine. Just give them a little bit more time and see what happens. If it turns out they did scam you, look on the bright side- You can still find Ace on a villager hunt or grab him from someone more trustworthy! Scammers are the worst and I always have the same nervousness when I trade villagers as well.
