A day late and a dollar short, but worthwhile nonetheless.
First off, whether you’ve been in the service or have someone in your life who ought to hear this- thank you. There’s no way we can do so enough here or anywhere else.
Now for the questions:
1. Do you celebrate Veterans Day?
2. Have you served/know someone who has?
1. Do you celebrate Veterans Day?
I don’t do anything special, but I respect the holiday. 2. Have you served/know someone who has?
I don’t know anyone who has served, and I haven’t served. I still respect people who have though.
1. Do you celebrate Veterans Day?
Usually by eating with my parents at a place that has Veterans Day discounts.
2. Have you served/know someone who has? My birth mom worked at Pearl Habor, my other mom was an analyst for the Army, and my grandpa ran submarines for the Navy. I have a lot of ancestors and other relatives who served as well, but I don’t know them.
1. I do not do anything special but I say a prayer for the handful of veterans that I do know. I also wear my cute American flag heels haha. I wish I did more. It always sneaks up on me, especially when in the middle of the week like a Thursday.
2. My great grandfather was a front-gunner for the US Navy during WWII! My uncle served in the Navy too. I almost went into the Navy! But then life pulled me in a bit of a different direction. Sometimes I regret it, I really love the Navy and have a lot of respect for those who feel called to serve.
1. No.
2. My brother in law served in Iraq and has severe PTSD. I feel sorry for all of the troops and veterans and support them, but I do not support the U.S. military at all since the U.S. has always fought for oil companies under the guise of "fighting for our freedom".
1. I don't really do anything special for veterans day
2. My husband served in the Army active duty, and is currently in the reserves. My brother was in the Navy and so was my grandpa. I nearly joined the Army earlier this year but messed up during meps, and decided to put it off because husband and I thought it would be better to have another kid first. I'm thinking maybe trying to get into the airforce instead afterwards, but we'll have to see I guess.
my dad served in the navy for 5 years back in the early 90s, and his dad actually served in Vietnam. my mom's dad is also a veteran though he wasn't in long because of health reasons.
I didn't celebrate veterans day this year cause I didn't go anywhere really, though I have to say it's unfortunate that my dad had to work the full day. he deserved a day off.
1. no, nor do I have any real desire to do so. it's like 4th of july in that it's just another day for me. ah well, at least there's no annoying people setting off loud fireworks all night.
2. i'm related to some people that served, and that's all i'll say on the matter.
