This map is hanging on the wall behind the Nook, Inc. desk. Is this where Harvey hangs out, or something else entirely?

Could be in reference to Photopia or maybe even the mystery islands where you do the tours. I think it is Harvey's island if you think about the visual on the box art and how close Harvey's island looks in proximity to our island.

Maybe it's possible to pick a layout with a fragmented island? :0 Like it's just a part of the island that you'd have to swim to, unless you're able to build something to connect them.

I think its just aesthetics.

I do not think it is reasonable to say that it is just for aesthetics, however its purpose is not clear.

We know that there is a special hidden beach in the back of the island. It seems to be only accessible once the user unlocks terraforming. In this case, that beach is on the same side of the island as the second island. It is potentially possible that the second island is an unlockable related to this hidden beach. I wouldn't put it past the game to allow for such an extensive "post game" on a game like this. It's not like adding a second island would be hard to pull off from a development standpoint, and you know the game's fans would love it.

I agree it seems too detailed and noticeable to be for aesthetics. I really like the thought of it being unlockable. Having a tiny little island would be fun just to decorate, but I wonder if there would be something unique to find?

To me it seems like a hidden cave you can discover.

it does seem like photopia to me!

Harvey mentions being from ?the next island over? so I think it?ll be where we find him. Possibly my boat as others had mini ones we do have a dock which we don?t know the purpose of yet.

I think photopia and mystery island tours are out of the question, mainly due to the verbiage used in the direct. Photopia is described as "....somewhere out there", and the mystery island tours are different each time. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if some mystery island tours are on the other hemisphere, to allow people to experience winter in the summer, etc.

That being said, I think Harvey's island, which is implied through the game's box art, is a definite possibility. Although we don't know anything about that island. Considering he has a camera on his door, it would almost seem reasonable for his island to be photopia, but the verbiage surrounding photopia in the direct makes it seem like it's not an adjacent island. Who knows, though.
