Villager Advice/ Potential Restart

Guys, I'm in a rut right now. Things aren't going too great on my island. Of course, my island is still on the newer side, but I'm just not feeling it. Thus, I took interest in a theme I've wanted to do since the game came out: gather up all 8 villagers that made their debut in NH. My last island was close to doing so, with Sherb, Megan, Reneigh, and Raymond, and this island currently has Sherb, Megan, and Judy, the latter two kindly given to me by folks here on TBT. This means I need Dom, Cyd, Raymond, Audie, and Reneigh. It would take a while to get the rest of them, no doubt, but there's one thing that hinders me from wanting to even do it in the first place. Some of you may already be guessing it by now.

Raymond.

I don't dislike Raymond. He's cute. He wouldn't be my #1 choice if I could get any smug villager in the game, but he's cute. What I don't like are what people price for him. I have a lot of Bells, but right now I'm using them for relocations, infrastructure improvements, and my home loan. As for what people want for him in NMTs...I don't have that. And I probably never will, since grinding Nook Miles just isn't something I enjoy doing. And I'm not paying RLC for an Animal Crossing villager. Most of them on sites like ebay and Etsy are hacked in, anyway. Pretty much the only way I could get Raymond for sure is through the random smug villager you get in the campsite, as I did with my last island. But, that would mean restarting the game MULTIPLE times until I eventually do get him.

Like I said, I'm in a rut. I don't want to restart my island because of the three I already have, especially Sherb, who was a random move-in, and also because I don't want to restart a whole island JUST for Raymond, and doing so would make my other villagers, most of which (especially Judy) I already have a lot of fond memories of, but I don't know of many alternatives. Should I attempt to get him off of a site like Nookazon when I have a plot open? Should I search for him the old-fashioned way with NMTs? Should I wait until he and the others hopefully get amiibo cards? Should I work on the others and save Raymond for last? I've never really had this issue before. I'm not desperate for Raymond myself, but so many people seem to be that the more casual players have trouble getting him. I'd appreciate any advice that y'all could give me

Hello! I’d say stick to your plan and save Raymond for last. Maybe you’ll encounter him on mystery islands or on your campsite one day or someone will give him away. I got my Raymond from a giveaway and since gave him away again, so there’s a chance!

As for the others, I have Audie on my island and would like her to move away. As much as I like her design and house, I can’t deal with three peppy villagers on my island. Once she wants to move out on her own or I kick her via amiibo I’ll gladly send her your way if you’re willing to wait a while. I’m so busy these days, I don’t have any energy to deal with kicking out a specific villager and would like it to happen naturally.

See, I was about to offer Audie (I'm moving her out soon via Amiibo, she's cute but I have Whitney who I like more and don't want two wolves), and I'll probably move Raymond out in the next few weeks... so I could offer him as well! No charge, I feel weird charging for villagers.

Both are gifted... but so was Judy, lol

I have made an island with the 8 new horizons villagers on, but I concluded that the only ones that I actually care about keeping are Megan, sherb, Judy, and audie. I really dislike reneigh so want her gone, and if she's gone, the gimmick is gone. And now I'm thinking I want orange villagers to match my orange themed island.

I can get them in boxes whenever you have a plot free. I'm happy to time travel too so I'm good whenever.

Lol, I'm glad you're enjoying Judy! She was a lot of fun to dress up~

And I'll let you know whenever I get them in boxes. It might be awhile for Raymond (I still like him, but I'm getting a little bored, but other villagers are boring me more, lol) but I'm flip-flopping on when to get Audie in boxes. I'm planning on moving her out via Amiibo, so if you happen to have a spot and are looking for her right then, lemme know! Lately I've been lurking the "Looking for" thread in case anyone posts for her, lol.
But I have June's Amiibo and think she's be a nice replacement as a villager with tropical flair~
